MAJELLA - IMPLEXUS

The Implexus, is providing, two ways of sound - generation.

There is, the Complex Generator, which is producing sound with wave - shaping, wave - folding and audio - rate modulation through LFO and envelopes, from a sine - wave.

And it has, the Basic Generator, a simple oscillator, with three different waves (sine, triangle, sawtooth). That can, also, be used to produce FM - sounds.

You can use them together and add, a sub - oscillator, in the mixer section.

The filter is switchable (the labeling, is showing, just one characteristic / curve).

Also, two envelopes (ADSR), two LFO, clock - signal (tap / external - in / MIDI), CV - connectors, stereo - out, headphone, MIDI (in / thru), USB, glide - function, audio - delay and vibrato.

Many functions, are syncable and the mod - envelope, is loopable. And the Implexus, can be used in drone - mode. LED - segments, are visualizing modulating - signals.

ARTURIA - POLYBRUTE

Arturia's new instrument, the Polybrute, is an analog and polyphonic synthesizer with the ability to morph between two states, of the same sound.

It has six voices with two oscillator, per voice. You can split the keyboard, into two zones, and set a different MIDI - channel, to each of them. So, the Polybrute has a two voice multi - timbrality.

ROLAND - TR 6S

It's the six - track version, of the TR - 8s by Roland.

Using Roland's ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior), the TR - 6s can recreate the sound of some of Roland's iconic machines (TR - 808, TR - 909, TR - 606, TR - 707..)

There is a preset - sample library and you can import, your own samples (WAV or AIFF), using the sd - card slot.

FM - sound engine, advanced sequencer (sub - steps, motion recording, flam, step - loop), a lot of effects (instruments and master) and the ability to work as an audio - / midi - interface, are some of the features.

The TR - 6s does not provide individual outputs or a "regular" power - supply unit. Audio - out is a pair of quarter - inch jacks and a headphone - socket (stereo miniature phone). Power is coming through USB or batteries, which is something that can be improved.

Price, will be approximately €400.

NORAND - MONO

The Mono is, you guess it, a monophonic synthesizer, with two oscillator (continuously variable waveform), and ADSR - envelope, three - pole filter (multi - mode), an sequencer and interesting modulation - capabilities (x - envelopes, x - modulation).

The x - envelopes and the x - modulation, are available for every parameter. X - envelope is a AD - envelope and the x - mod is a frequency - generator, which can be running in three different modes (LFO, synced LFO, audio - rate).

The Mono can perform frequency - modulation and oscillator - sync.

You can use a key - follow function, to control the filter and the filter can be, also, modulated by the main - envelope (ADSR) and continuously fade from band - to low - to high - pass.

The sequencer has up to 64 steps and is allowing, to program, microshift, ratchet and probability for every step. There is accent, slide and swing. The randomizer can used for parameter or sequences. And "..each step can hold up to 48 parameter offsets..". Also, parts of a pattern can be looped temporarily.

You have MIDI (in, out, thru), USB, CV and gate (out), analog - clock input (sync, reset) and an accent - output.

Sequential - Take 5

There was a leak, at a belgium webshop, which was showing a new instrument by Sequential.

It has a full - sized keyboard, of three and a half octave and it's named Take 5.

Seems like it has a polyphony of five voices and it's oscillator are analog.

We can see two oscillator and one sub - oscillator, per voice.

Two envelopes, one LFO (plus one global LFO), mixer - section, filter with resonance and drive, oscillator - sync and FM, modulation - assignment, glide, unison, overdrive, step - sequencer, clock - generator, arpeggiator, MIDI, mod - and pitch - wheel and patch - storage.

And there is Sequential's vintage - button.

The casing - design, of the Take 5, is coming from the same line as the Pro 3.

Price will be, most probably, a few bugs above €1000.

Sequential - Take 5

Now, that the Take 5 is revealed, we know that it is an analog (oscillator, filter, amp. Envelopes are digital - controlled), with a polyphony of five.

The Take 5 has no multi - timbrality. The polyphonic step - sequencer is providing just 64 steps. And there are only 128 user - patch memory - places.

Some cool specs are the variable wave - shape (except sub - oscillator), oscillator - sync, FM, 5 - stage envelopes, self - resonating filter, configurable unison - mode (1 to 5 voices), modulation - matrix (16 slots), digital - effects and an overdrive - circuit.

Also nice, is the factory - mode (or non - factory mode). Using a switch, all parameter are using the front - panel settings.

The Take 5 has the so called vintage - knob, which is producing parameter - variation, so the different voices don't sound exactly the same.

And it is coming with a complete MIDI - trio (in / out / thru) of 5 - pole sockets.
