POLYEND - MEDUSA

The Medusa is a collaboration, by Polyend and Dreadbox!

"Medusa hybrid synthesizer is a fruit of the collaboration between Dreadbox and Polyend companies. It has emerged from both teams unusual approach to integrating analog and digital domains into a totally new quality."

Features:
Three synchronizable analog oscillators with the choice of four classic wave types for each of them. One 24dB classic Dreadbox analog filter with three different types (2pole LP, 4pole LP, HP). FM frequency modulation separately for oscillators and filter. Noise generator with colour shaping. Three wavetable digital oscillators. Three different play modes: monophonic, paraphonic x3, paraphonic x6. Audio input lets you use the power of Medusa with external audio sources.

Five independent and adjustable low-frequency oscillators with an extensive pool of parameters to control. Five independent, adjustable and loopable DADSR envelopes with a wide list of parameters to assign. Mixer for all seven paths of independent analog, digital and noise voices. Separate volume control for headphone and main audio outputs. Implemented MIDI protocol with bi-directional USB and DIN input, output and through.

JOHN BOWEN - SOLARIS TT / 1U

John Bowen, was showing, a desktop - version and a voice - expansion (rack, 1u), at this year's Winter - NAMM.

The table - top version, is identically to the regular version (without joystick, wheels, etc.). While, the voice - expansion, has got no, physical, edit - options at all, ecxept an volume - knob (maybe, a display) but a software - editor.

The Solaris, is a completely digital synthesizer, with a lot of options. It has, implemented, 64 wave - tables, of the Waldorf - Microwave.

Main - features:
°4 oscillator, each with several types available: MultiMode, WaveTable, CEM, WAV (sample playback), VS (single cycle waves), Mini
°4 filter, each with selectable in - puts: Multi - mode low - pass, 24, 18, 12, 6 dB, high - pass 24, 18, 12, 6 dB, band - pass 24 dB, comb (2 types), state - variable 12 dB LP, HP, BP & BR, SSM low - pass 24 dB , mini (ladder) low - pass 24 dB, vocal - formant
°2 vector - mixer, 2 rotors (special 4 - step wave - shape sequences), 2 AM sections (including ring - mod)
°6 DADSR, 1 8 - stage loopable envelope
°4 free LFOs, 1 vibrato LFO. Each LFO featuring delayed start, fade in and fade out times, key - sync and phase - control
°Phaser, chorus/flanger, delay, 3 - band EQ effects

You can, pre - order, the TT - version now, for a 50% deposit ($1600). Also, taking pre - orderings, for the voice - expansion (introductory pricing: $1599)

ARTURIA - POLYBRUTE

Arturia
's new instrument, the Polybrute, is an analog and polyphonic synthesizer with the ability to morph between two states, of the same sound.

It has six voices with two oscillator, per voice. You can split the keyboard, into two zones, and set a different MIDI - channel, to each of them. So, the Polybrute has a two voice multi - timbrality.

Another outstanding features, is the Morphée - controller, which is three - dimensional (touch and pressure).

There are two different filter, three envelopes, three LFO, a modulation - matrix, digital effects, a sequencer, arpeggiator, MIDI, USB and analog - clock connections.

Sequential - Take 5

Now, that the Take 5 is revealed, we know that it is an analog (oscillator, filter, amp. Envelopes are digital - controlled), with a polyphony of five.

The Take 5 has no multi - timbrality. The polyphonic step - sequencer is providing just 64 steps. And there are only 128 user - patch memory - places.

Some cool specs are the variable wave - shape (except sub - oscillator), oscillator - sync, FM, 5 - stage envelopes, self - resonating filter, configurable unison - mode (1 to 5 voices), modulation - matrix (16 slots), digital - effects and an overdrive - circuit.

Also nice, is the factory - mode (or non - factory mode). Using a switch, all parameter are using the front - panel settings.

The Take 5 has the so called vintage - knob, which is producing parameter - variation, so the different voices don't sound exactly the same.

And it is coming with a complete MIDI - trio (in / out / thru) of 5 - pole sockets.

Specifications:
°Two analog VCO, per voice.
°Continuously variable wave - shape (sine, sawtooth, variable - width pulse), per oscillator.
°Hard sync: Oscillator 1 is syncing to oscillator 2.
°Sub - octave generator (oscillator 1 / square - wave), per voice.
°Keyboard - tracking on / off, for each oscillator.
°Front - panel frequency - modulation.
°Mixer with oscillator 1 - amount, oscillator 1 sub - octave amount, oscillator 2 - amount, white noise / pink noise - amount.
°Four - pole, resonant, low - pass filter, per voice, based on Prophet - 5 Rev 4 - design.
°Filter can be driven into self - oscillation, with the Resonance Control.
°Bi - polar filter - envelope amount.
Two 5 - stage envelope - generator (ADSR + delay), with variable routing (filter, amplifier, auxiliary).

°Channel - aftertouch, with bi - polar amount.
°Aftertouch, freely assignable to multiple modulation - destinations.
°Master - clock, with tap - tempo.
°BPM - control and display.
°MIDI - clock sync.
