BEHRINGER - RD 6

Behringer, had cloned, the TR - 606 by Roland.

The TR - 606, has a very characteristically sound and was build, by Roland, to support the TB - 303.

The RD - 6, is fully analog (sound - engine), has individual out - puts and patch - points (sync, trigger), MIDI (in / out / thru), a sequencer, distortion and USB.

It's built, into a plastic - case, which is looking, like their TD - 3. So, it's optically, very close to the original TR - 606.

ROLAND - TR 06 DRUMATIX

The TR - 06 Drumatix, is Roland's modern version of the TR - 606 Drumatix. It's coming, in the so called boutique - formant.

Contrary, to the original machine, which was released in 1981, the TR - 06 is producing it's sounds with Roland's ACB - technology. The TR - 606 was build with analog circuitry.

The TR - 606 wasn't editable at all, except the sequencer. The instruments, of the TR - 06, can be tuned, the decay can be tweaked, the panorama - position can be adjusted.

Also, you can use gain, compression, an delay - effect (delay, pan - delay, tape - echo, reverb, flanger, side - band filter) and overdrive (saturator, bit - crusher, distortion, LPF / HPF).

The sequencer - section, was modernized and a few features were added. Such as sub - steps, flam - effect, different probability - functions, step - loop, intro and fill - in.

Instruments are the same, as in the original model (plus variations). Bass - drum, snare - drum, open hi - hat, closed hi - hat, low - and hi - tom and cymbal.

The TR - 06 has MIDI, USB, some trigger - outs and one trigger - input. There are some stereo connections; Mix - in, phones and the regular output (miniature - phone type). Unfortunately, there are no individual outputs, for the different instruments.

The TR - 06 can be powered, through USB or batteries. The fact, that there is no regular power - supply unit, is a bit unpleasent.

ROLAND - TR 6S

It's the six - track version, of the TR - 8s by Roland.

Using Roland's ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior), the TR - 6s can recreate the sound of some of Roland's iconic machines (TR - 808, TR - 909, TR - 606, TR - 707..)

There is a preset - sample library and you can import, your own samples (WAV or AIFF), using the sd - card slot.

FM - sound engine, advanced sequencer (sub - steps, motion recording, flam, step - loop), a lot of effects (instruments and master) and the ability to work as an audio - / midi - interface, are some of the features.

The TR - 6s does not provide individual outputs or a "regular" power - supply unit. Audio - out is a pair of quarter - inch jacks and a headphone - socket (stereo miniature phone). Power is coming through USB or batteries, which is something that can be improved.

On Facebook, Behringer is asking if the user are wanting them, to built, their version of a SH - 5.

The SH - 5 was built in the mid - seventies, by Roland. And, of course, it's an analog synthesizer.

As we can see, the version by Behringer, seems almost identical. The control - elements are arranged differently, the case is smaller and it has less keys, but all assemblies can be seen on the front - panel, which is built as tilt - shift.
