DevNet was switched to the new Rust node 🔥

During the last elections of validators, there was a transition DevNet from C+ node to Rust node.

In the end, the shard bug was fixed. If you are a developer, you can test the network with your own smart contracts, and in case of problems report @EkaterinaPantaz, @itemko, @joydark.

We are waiting for further updates 👍

Web 3 compatible labels for Everscale products 🔥

The Ever Surf team encourages the developers of dApps with DeBots to use Web 3 compatible labels. This label means that even if the product site is blocked, the community will be able to use DeBots.

Such a label appeared on the Boosted Staking website.

Questions section

About storing data in blockchain

• Blockchain doesn't actually store all the transactions. It stores hash codes of the transactions. All the history, all the messages are stored at the validators servers.
• All addresses in the Everscale network are smart-contracts and they have account data. The user can restore it if it got frozen.

About social Web3 project built on the Everscale ecosystem
• Open EML — everybody can connect to Everscale through SDK
• Open messaging

About API usage
In the near future users will have to migrate to the new API. If they want to interact with the blockchain they will use Blockchain Root Query. If they want to perform some analytics they will use Collections.

About adding BTC to the OctusBridge
Currently not under development. But it's possible

💰1,000 EVER will be split between TOP-10 questions chosen by BiWeekly participants

ZenMath² mathematical DeBot Update ⚡️

In the mathematical DeBot, some bugs were fixed: on one level it was impossible to get a hint, and also some levels were poorly displayed.

Moreover, the number of levels has increased! Now there are 59 levels.

ZenMath² DeBot developer commented on the motivation behind the development of such a DeBot:

"I really liked the idea of creating apps that do not require a centralized infrastructure. But so far, all full-fledged apps and Web3 games at least should have a website.

DeBot technology, now only presented at Everscale, takes the first step toward moving away from centralized infrastructure. Now we can place UI, logic, and data on the blockchain, and not depend on anyone else.

However, up to this point, DeBots were used quite limited: to buy tokens, to create an account, manage a wallet and staking.

I wanted to do something full-fledged and not related to the blockchain world, and at the same time show what else DeBots are capable of, as well as inspire other developers (and therefore we also decided to publish
the source code)".

Everscale on the Trust Wallet GitHub ⚡️

Everscale has been added to the Trust Wallet GitHub for testing in developer mode, after completing the audit of the code, Everscale will be added to the user mode. The timing of the addition depends entirely on the workload and priorities of the Trust Wallet team.

As a reminder, integration into Trust Wallet is a community initiative approved by the vote on EVER DAO. 98 addresses participated in the voting, 97 of which supported the initiative. The execution of this solution is carried out by Everscale DeFi Alliance according to the text of the proposal.

Everscale ranked second in the developer activity on GitHub ⚡️

A publication has been released on the Coin Edition platform, that tells about blockchains with the highest daily development activity according to GitHub.

Everscale finished second to Cardano. Everscale is followed by Ethereum.

Alexander Filatov in his tweet said that he was interested in watching the competition between Cardano and Ethereum, although it was even more interesting to see how Everscale took place between these blockchains.

Review of the article about core development ⚙️

Here is review of the article about the priorities of core development in Everscale, which Strategic Committee is working on.

Current priorities

• The transition of the blockchain to a new consensus algorithm Soft Majority Fault Tolerance (SMFT), that raises the bar to 50% fault tolerance (compared to the 33% of Byzantine Fault Tolerance consensus)

• Creation of a new smart contract "elector", which is responsible for the selection of validators to prevent the appearance of "monopolists" with large stakes in the network and maintain a high level of decentralization

• Updating the Reliable External Message Protocol (REMP), responsible for messages delivery in the network. Its will help to reduce the response time inside the blockchain to about 1 second

• The latest update of the node code is aimed at simplifying the work with smart contracts in Everscale for developers

A new Locklift-Deploy plugin 🔧

A new Locklift-Deploy plugin has been added to the Locklift developer tool, which helps to deploy testing environments and generally simplifies the deployment management on TVM.

For example, it allows easily write complex deployment procedures by storing deployment artifacts between calls to different scripts.

Threaded Solidity: How to write smart contracts for TVM-compatible blockchains ↗️

An article on writing smart contracts for for TVM-compatible blockchains has been published on the Broxus blog. Thanks to this guide, it will become easier for new external developers to meet Everscale and Venom smart contracts and start writing them themselves.

Smart contract files on the Everscale and Venom networks use the .tsol extension, which stands for Threaded Solidity, which differentiates asynchronous smart contracts from regular synchronous contracts on Solidity. A special Solidity code compiler was written into TVM machine instructions.

The testing of smart contracts is carried out using the Locklift framework. For further interaction with smart contracts, programmers should use the Everscale Inpage Provider — an SDK with a set of APIs for interacting with the Everscale and Venom blockchains.

Particularities of Threaded Solidity:
• smart contract code is executed on the Threaded Virtual Machine, which works with its own data structure or tree of cells
• these networks operate in an asynchronous manner
• all actions on the network are interactions between smart contracts via internal messages

The article provides detailed information for the developer: about cells, slices, builders in TVM, about the TVM namespace, about external and internal, incoming and outgoing messages, about authorization of external messages, about gas calculation, about smart contract deployment methods, etc.
