AMA session with Sergey Shashev review 📃

Broxus co-founder, Sergey Shashev, and Everscale node developer, Vyacheslav, answered community questions. Here are some key points:

🔵Is Venom regulated or public? Venom has a hybrid model and includes both open and closed parts

🔵Broxus' role in Venom: a technological operator that provides developer solutions, some components of the system and a consultant that helps new development teams

🔵The new Chinese Everscale investor is one of the largest validators. They are interested in the technology and have a huge position

🔵Until the problem of reducing transaction finality time is solved, what makes blockchain competitive on the market, other tasks aren't actual so much. Expected time for the finality task — July 2023

🔵After solving the finality problem, the development team will return to more active development of SMFT, which will also be integrated into the Venom network

🔵REMP also has a high priority as it solves the problem of reliable delivery and processing of external messages in the network

🔵Plans for development in the Korean market after listing on Bithumb:

▶️Starting a marketing campaign and referral programs means market testing
▶️Several corporate clients have appeared
▶️A large partnership, which will be announced after the first project
▶️More developers and the corporate education are expected

🔵The unique value of Everscale after the Venom' launch is the possibility to build any products and to make experiments.
Example: Ethereum is independent, there is no regulation. BSC is more productive, but BSC is also more regulated

🔵Venom is the emergence of a large number of companies and penetration into different countries. Starting with Venom, the technology is already has a market. There are two promising markets including South Korea at the moment

🔵These cases will increase the number of developers on TVM, the reputation of the technology, motivation to come and build on it because these cases are well. This, in turn, will increase the economy and capitalization of the networks.

Make your product cross-chain 🐙

The Broxus team invites product owners to make their product cross-chain using the Octus Bridge by providing new technical documentation.

For example, if your marketplace accepts payment in USDT, you can implement its multiple versions: TIP-3, ERC20, BEP20 — each of which will be convenient for a part of your customers.

The documentation explains how to integrate the bridge, how TVM📶EVM transfers work, what alien and native tokens are, and much more.

"Just DAO it" — an official reaction from Broxus 🐭

DAO means decentralized autonomous organization. It’s a place where user's vote determines farming rewards on the FlatQube DEX.

In the last Epoch, the GVMMNY/INDMNY pool appeared as a voting candidate and received part of the rewards but previously he:
paid 1k QUBE for the pool listing
locked 33k QUBE for 4 years in order to vote

So the pool creator didn't bypass the system, but simply seized the moment of the low activity in the DAO. What todo do: vote more actively for your favorite pools!

"We will upgrade the system, and later we’ll be announcing some improvements to the pool listing mechanism and proposals release" — pointed out the developer.

Threaded Solidity: How to write smart contracts for TVM-compatible blockchains ↗️

An article on writing smart contracts for for TVM-compatible blockchains has been published on the Broxus blog. Thanks to this guide, it will become easier for new external developers to meet Everscale and Venom smart contracts and start writing them themselves.

Smart contract files on the Everscale and Venom networks use the .tsol extension, which stands for Threaded Solidity, which differentiates asynchronous smart contracts from regular synchronous contracts on Solidity. A special Solidity code compiler was written into TVM machine instructions.

The testing of smart contracts is carried out using the Locklift framework. For further interaction with smart contracts, programmers should use the Everscale Inpage Provider — an SDK with a set of APIs for interacting with the Everscale and Venom blockchains.

Particularities of Threaded Solidity:
• smart contract code is executed on the Threaded Virtual Machine, which works with its own data structure or tree of cells
• these networks operate in an asynchronous manner
• all actions on the network are interactions between smart contracts via internal messages

The article provides detailed information for the developer: about cells, slices, builders in TVM, about the TVM namespace, about external and internal, incoming and outgoing messages, about authorization of external messages, about gas calculation, about smart contract deployment methods, etc.

Big article about Octus Bridge 🐙

"DeFi is a world where participants can do much things offered to them by traditional financial institutions, only, this time, on their own terms. However, modern 'DeFi' is often associated with platforms that users still have to trust their funds to. If DeFi is truly going to work, the obstacles to interoperability have to be overcome" — noted in the article.

How do blockchain bridges work?
One solution to DeFi's functional compatibility issues is the creation of cross-chain bridges, which allow users to transfer assets from one network to another and back. Octus Bridge is a cross-chain bridge, a DeFi application developed by the Broxus team, one of the core Everscale contributors.

Universal Bridge and Invisible Bridge
The Invisible Bridge technology allows users to make EVM-EVM transfers using only their Metamask wallet. In addition, EVM-TVM transfers and vice versa can be made using only one wallet, either Metamask or EVER Wallet.

Octus Bridge is conceived as a universal solution that will connect all major blockchain networks. Currently, the bridge supports 7 networks: Ethereum, Everscale, BNB Chain, Polygon, Fantom Opera, Avalanche, and Klaytn. Additionally, via Universal Bridge technology, users can use the bridge to transfer almost any asset from any network to Everscale and back.

Relayers and stakers
Relayers focus on transaction validation and synchronization across networks, while stakers engage in token locking within staking contracts to participate in consensus mechanisms. Participation as a bridge relayer requires a minimum stake size of 100,000 BRIDGE tokens.

How to make a cross-chain transfer using Octus Bridge?
There is a detailed guide on the EverKit website.
