Everscale advantages 🔥

One of Everscale developers commented on the main advantages of blockchain over other networks:

“Everscale has two interesting concepts — endless sharding and storage fees.

I have already described many times that most current
blockchains have a problem with growing state sizes. What I mean is, blockchains that want to last more than 10-20 years are forced to limit the pace of writing to their state size so that the size of the blockchain does not grow too quickly. After all, validators have to store the entire state forever, and the size of the state also slightly slows down the speed of processing transactions (it is necessary to update the merkle tree proof of the state), albeit by log (N is the number of contracts on the network).

Therefore, in "normal"
blockchains that care about their future, on Ethereum for example, users are forced to compete with each other for the right to record data to the blockchain state size via an auction system, because Ethereum understands that it is impossible to write data to their blockchain state size faster than the storage of this data becomes cheaper, otherwise it will not be profitable for validators to store them in the future. In blockchains that are less careful about their future, for example, Polygon or BSC with its weak decentralization, or are not as concerned about what their chain will look like in 10 years, the recording rate is much less limited because they are trying to get as many users as possible now and they will think about the future later.

In ES, there is a complex but unique concept of storage fees wherein each contract pays for its storage on the network, and therefore it makes no sense to limit the pace of recording to the network because the contract pays for its storage for a while and then will be deleted. Therefore, we can provide the ability to record to the network at a certain fixed price and users do not have to compete with each other for the right to record.

The second part is infinite sharding. Due to the fact that shards are added dynamically, we can process a potentially huge number of transactions per second. However, it is not free, and the transactions can be slower to complete. What that means is that with the addition of a large number of shards, the time to execute transactions increases, but the number of transactions per second is very large. This part is still in the process of being finalized and we need normalized interaction between all involved parts, which I hope will be implemented adequately.

As a result, connecting both of these concepts, we get a system that can process a huge number of transactions per second for a fixed price (albeit with a slowdown when the load peaks, but this slowdown concerns the execution time of one transaction, and not throughput), and at the same time remain efficient for decades. And, at the same time, this system, unlike rollups, can remain decentralized.

But the protocol needs to go a long way to complete all this in a provable and sustainable manner”.

Comparison of Everscale and Aptos networks 📊

Recently, the accelerated parallel-execution Aptos single chain was launched, which, according to some media sources, is capable of processing up to 160 000 transactions per second.

Is that really the case? An article comparing the technical features of Aptos and Everscale was published on Everscale Medium.

About place of Everscale in the CBDC race on Hackernoon 📄

On the Hackernoon media resource, an article on the current problems of the traditional financial system compared to the CBDC (central bank digital currency) was published.

Everscale is mentioned in the article as one of the blockchains best suited for digital assets.

Reasons:

• Ability to process a large number of transactions;
• Each wallet is a smart contract;
• Endless sharding;
• Payment for storage of the contract in the network;
• The presence of a bridge.

Thus, Everscale fits the solution of the CBDC paradox, namely the conflict of interest between the end user and the state.

Not your keys, not your coins 🔑

The recent collapse of FTX proves to users that even the largest custodians cannot be considered reliable. By giving the money for storage to someone, you may not get it back.

Blockchain allows users to independently store their own funds — you just need to securely store the seed phrase and not show it to anyone.

Are you sure that your seed phrase is securely stored in several places? When the event that destroyed one instance of it occurs, it will be too late to create copies. Read our material about ways to securely store the seed phrase, perhaps you will learn new and useful information for yourself.

On the EverKit website, wallets for Everscale are divided into custodial and non-custodial. We recommend using only non-custodial wallets to store funds. We wrote more about the difference between the types of wallets in this post.

Your keys are your coins!

Everscale ranked second in the developer activity on GitHub ⚡️

A publication has been released on the Coin Edition platform, that tells about blockchains with the highest daily development activity according to GitHub.

Everscale finished second to Cardano. Everscale is followed by Ethereum.

Alexander Filatov in his tweet said that he was interested in watching the competition between Cardano and Ethereum, although it was even more interesting to see how Everscale took place between these blockchains.

Venom Ventures Fund invested $5 million in Everscale 🔥

Venom Ventures Fund (VVF) is a fund investing in innovative protocols and Web3 applications. The foundation was launched by the Arab blockchain project Venom Foundation.

“For us, this is a strategic investment aimed at the technological development of projects and teams around technologies that we focus on and actively develop. In particular, we are talking about the Venom blockchain project and its ecosystem, which is planned to be launched soon and for which Everscale is a potential Layer 2 solution,” VVF’s Chairman Peter Knez stated.

News about the investment was published on the CryptoPotato media resource, which also says that Everscale's technological capabilities are undervalued.

Stay tuned!

Features, advantages and prospects of TON 💎

As part of the Blockchain Community Day 2023 Global Online Conference, LANDAO Founder Liza Chernyagina gave a presentation on The Open Network (TON) blockchain.

Here are the highlights:

🔵TON is a fully decentralized Layer-1 blockchain with the principles of full decentralization, privacy and transparency

🔵TON is highly scalable and capable of processing millions of transactions per second

🔵TON is integrated with Telegram messenger, which has a huge user base of 750M people, and provides a convenient platform for peer-to-peer interactions and integration of Web3 applications.

🔵TON is built on messaging and utilizes a distributed contract architecture

🔵TON is a hybrid of Bitcoin and Ethereum with back-end messaging and smart contract capabilities

🔵TON has a very low transaction cost, the network is decentralized and has about 300 validators

🔵TON is designed to overcome the scalability and mass-adoption issues often faced by other blockchains

🔵Developers can find tasks on GitHub and receive grants for TON ecosystem projects

🎓 As part of the talk, Liza presented an online video course on developing smart contracts and frontend interaction on the TON blockchain. The course will be free and will be available on platforms such as Coursera or Udemy.

Chernyagina also mentioned the upcoming Definition Hackathon in Istanbul, where participants will be able to solve problems and work on projects related to the TON blockchain.

She noted that video courses and hackathons are a good way to involve developers in the TON ecosystem.
