День примирения – государственный праздник в ЮАР, отмечаемый ежегодно 16 декабря. Праздник был принят в 1995 году после окончания апартеида с целью способствовать примирению и национальному единству страны. Празднование Дня примирения может проходить в форме воспоминаний о прошлом, признания заслуг ветеранов, маршей и других мероприятий.

The Day of Reconciliation is a public holiday in South Africa held annually on December 16. The holiday came into effect in 1995 after the end of apartheid, with the intention to foster reconciliation and national unity for the country. The celebration of the Day of Reconciliation can take the form of remembering past history, recognizing veteran's contributions, marching, and other festivities.

Фонд Нельсона Манделы в сотрудничестве с Кхулу Мбатой разработал выставку «Становление демократии в Южной Африке. 1990–1994 годы: Как строилась демократия». Коллекция фотографий лидеров Африканского Национального Конгресса 1990-х годов позволяет проанализировать переговорный процесс. На выставке представлены материалы из архива O’Malley (интервью с лидерами АНК), личные заметки Н. Манделы и др.

Online exhibition "Negotiating Democracy in South Africa"
The Nelson Mandela Foundation in collaboration with Khulu Mbatha has developed the exhibition “Negotiating Democracy in South Africa. 1990-1994: How democracy was forged”. The collection of photographic images of ANC leaders in the 1990s forms the fulcrum for a reflection on the negotiation process. The exhibition’s content is also supported by the O’Malley archive – especially the interviews with those who appear in Mbatha’s photographs – Mandela’s own notes and others.
