I guess my initial review of DIRT 5 was too harsh. The game has the most impressive dynamic weather system with snow, rain, and day-night cycles. The only downside is their odd SDR rendering (which can be overlit by reflections from the snow or sand).

After all these years I'm glad that the game is kinda simple (with easy to use grid of events), that it's funky and that it somewhat inspired by Forza Horizon and The Crew.

The physics is very arcade but deep into surfaces and materials physics, so good luck if you drove in oil or stuck in mud.

The enemies are annoyingly good in keeping their spots so each victory feels fair and deserved.

But car collision model and lack of destruction beyond a few scratches makes the driving very odd. If a group of enemies collide, they can literally stuck in a certain area.

Apparently, Alex Garland (Civil War, Annihilation, Ex Machina) is filming the Elden Ring movie!

POV: You wanted to play a Ubisoft game on your last weekend 'cause you like Odyssey and Valhalla and it's not starting...

UPD: I fixed it by running the game from Ubisoft Connect instead of launching it from Steam. They broke the link between apps (again).

Hello, cringe department?

Can I remind you how Halo series worked out for them with the idea of appealing to non-gamers? It's 2026, there are no "non-gamers" who will watch Mass Effect.

Quantum Break is 10 years old now. The game was exceptional but suffered from Xbox attitude:

- Released on Xbox One only and was supposed to be a flagship of new media (Game + TV Series inside the game)
- Moved to PC over a year later into broken then Microsoft Store and with messed up graphics (a lot of effects were forced to be 720p at any output resolution)
- Moved to Steam another year later without any real marketing for the port
- Was mostly purchased at huge discounts on sale (I got it for $3)

Also, the series part was very good but at least on PC there were no controls. One accidental tap on space key and you skip the whole episode 🫑
