Rainbow Six Siege has been hacked in several attempts by different groups.

First ones got access to the game server admin panel: they banned people and gave away $300m+ worth of goods for free. It seems that hackers banned Ubisoft employees while Ubisoft banned "people with suspicious amounts of currency". Most of these bans are rolled back now.

Then a few more groups seemingly got the full access to all the sources of the game. This still has to be confirmed, since Ubisoft is only discussing the admin access. They temporarily shut down the marketplace and secondary ban system that has been breached.

The security issue is not coming from Ubisoft, it's MongoBleed: MongoDB Zlib Vulnerability (CVE-2025-14847), affecting millions of servers worldwide.

Ubisoft sold Assassins Creed brand for promotional campaign of RAID: Shadow Legends — a pay 2 win hero-battler that became the synonymous of greed.

A few years ago RAID bought every major YouTube channel and was more annoying than Honey scam. But the trick paid off and the game made billions by being only playable if you pay tons of $$ every month.

The new Avatar DLC is probably the best thing Ubisoft delivered in ages. They made it 3rd person, removed fillers, created a worthy story, and fixed gameplay features.

One year after the original game and they turned it into a very impressive journey, that people actually liked.

Now the team behind it is being cut days after the release and after The Division 10th anniversary.

Ubisoft is raising the team of AI sloperators: the goal is to "find where AI is the most usable in the whole pipeline" (LN).

And I feel a bit of a pain here: Ubisoft were among first who built neural networks over a decade ago. They were used to bake cloth physics (and run it 1000 times faster), merge animations (and make characters switch between them smoother in a changing environment). In general they were pioneers in a very good use cases of what now can be called AI.

And now they are looking to use it in Data, Programing, Game and Narrative Design, and more. Which is not what players want. They do not want games be written by AI, ok?
