More or less this is the real price of the technology when it's no longer supported by blind investments. AI slop kittens are $400 per short, and a month of part-time coding auto completion is $800.

You can run big 36B LLMs locally with limited VRAM on Windows, it safely reallocate it to shared memory these days. Your Drive, RAM, CPU, and GPU have to be fast anyway and I assume Re-Bar helps too.

Some of the computations are also performed on the CPU anyway, so there have to be spare RAM for both CPU and GPU to make it possible.

You can also give it access to online search (and limit it with on/off switch), etc. Without relying on cloud data.

Apparently, there are some court activities around Google trying to maintain and commercialize fakes in AI summaries.

Google is now legally responsible for its AI generated "facts" in the overview section.

In some cases they were actually keeping some of wrong things as the preferable answers if they were getting more attention from users = improved their revenue from the search request.

First of all, it's obvious that the volume of these games will increase. Their success will in most cases be limited though. From 80% of games making no money we will shift to 92-96% of games making no money.

Eventually players will agree to some AI. Investors will try to push for too much AI and fail. Cheap generated assets will not make it through, except maybe adult visual novels. A certain balance will be achieved in a decade or so.

The team behind Vampire Survivors will reconsider the collaboration with Fortnite after Epic Games announced generative AI as the main new feature of the Unreal Engine 6.

Previously Epic Games made a whole video about using cringe models inside Unreal Engine "to make art", pretending it's what concept artists always wanted. The video was mocked and disliked. Go drop your dislike too!
