The FB live streaming session on 13/9/21 discussed the following points.

- The plight of Tampines Rovers and hope they will bounce back, after all, things wil bounce back and it's matter of when and how?

- Lion City Sailors vs Albirex Niigata (Singapore), a SPL title decider match on 17/9 with winner takes all and LCS mustn't conceded any careless mistake which is their Achilles' heel.

- Revival of Prime League would depend on factors like availability of fields which was a common sight to see a PL game co-existed with casual joggers at stadiums.

- Given its land scarcity, Singapore is more suitable and should encourage the playing of futsal since most of us play on hard surfaces during our growing up years.

- Supporters naming the place they gathered at their home games - a romantic way to foster relationship between the club and them.

- Keeping tickets stub is own a piece of history if attended any significant match.

Thanks to those who joined us for the live streaming last evening on FB and here are some of the stuff we discussed.

โšฝ The ongoing AFC U23 qualifiers which saw us drew 2-2 with Timor Leste.

At the meantime, some feedback, same like me, unable to watch the game as no access to the channels showing the games which I think can't be helped if there are some sort of agreements that the games are to be shown exclusively on certain platforms which is a trend these days.

โšฝ The returning of Coach Yoshinaga back to Albirex Niigata (Singapore) should be an interesting one, as we will see if he still has that Midas touch that saw he steered the White Swans to dominate the 2017, 2018 season.

โšฝ Some discussions on Hasnim Haron whom I in the process of collating materials on this former Lions midfielder who was known for his trailblazing run on the flanks.

HERE ARE THE MANUALS FROM THE PAST (Part1)

Thanks to those who joined us for the live streaming last evening on FB and here are some of the stuff we discussed.โ €

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ What other TDs left behind?

- In this segment, I shared two copies of manuals by two former Technical Directors of FAS - one by Slobodan Pavkovic in 2010 and one by Michel Sablon in 2015.

Both manuals are illustrated with diagrams, charts, etc. to outline the blueprints both Pavkovic and Sablon had in mind for Singapore football.

Had the recent departed Joe Palatsides left behind anything similar? I doubt so (but do let me know if he did, thanks)

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Bit discussion on the transfer

- The usual transferring of players among the clubs is ongoing with AIA Singapore Premier League clubs actively keep us in the loop who they had signed for the upcoming SPL season.

Although one interesting talking point is the revealing of wages details by Balestier Khalsa of their recent recruitments.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ The Lions' preparation for AFF Suzuki Cup

- I always stressed that we shouldn't get too upset if results don't go our way during the warming, friendly matches when the key is to gear up and get ready for the real thing - the first match against Myanmar on 5/12.

A good result against Myanmar is very important as it will be a good morale booster, and we must remember the fact things changed since 2012 when others in the region improved tremendously.

๐Ÿ™ Thanks for joining in the FB live streaming last night (18/2).

๐Ÿ”— When we talk about Singapore Football, we can't run away without mentioning Malaysia Cup because of the long association with it.

๐Ÿ† After all, Singapore was the first winner of this competition in 1921 and the team with the second highest winning percentage of this tournament.

๐Ÿ“– And the same time, I shared some rare photos and old publications like a book on Malaysia Cup authored by Mr Godfrey Robert, a few copies of "Singapore Soccer", etc.

๐Ÿ‘ด Based on June 1976 edition of "Singapore Soccer" monthly, I am confident to say legendary coach "Uncle" Choo Seng Quee would rather win the Pre-World Cup qualifier final against Hong Kong than winning the Malaysia Cup in 1977.

๐Ÿข Copies of "Singapore Soccer" monthly and book authored by Mr Robert can be found at National Library's Lee Kong Chian Reference Library at 11th storey.

๐Ÿงข To learn more about how Uncle Choo trained his players, you may want to read Mr Quah Kim Song's autobiography (The Quah Kim Song Story) which is available in public libraries.

๐Ÿ“ Stay Tuned for a blog post based on 1965 Malaya Cup Final.

THANK YOU ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you to those who joined the FB livestream last night (13/11) in which we talk about

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ The privatisation process of the Singapore Premier League (SPL)

- It should be gradually and not hastily paced to avoid what happened to the S.League which was poorly structured and fundamentally fragile.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ The upcoming AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup (AFF ME Cup)

- Let's not be pessimistic and things will bounce back eventually like how things were back in 2012 when we surprised many to win the AFF championship that year.

Looking forward to seeing more of you taking part in the next session soon
