With daily peak at less than 30K and dips to less than 10K, Marathon retain a noticeable audience but it's obviously going down.
They will not shut it down, I guess. But it will get a small but passionate team to support the game further. It stays at about 50-70 spot of Steam Top Sellers, so the cash flow is fairly sustainable. The math will work if the team will be much smaller than now.

Do you know that Qualcomm is doing Intel-level try but in reverse: about 15 years ago Intel tried to go Android with their Atom chips and failed. Now Qualcomm tries to go PC with their Snapdragon X Elite.
And it's been like five years now of their attempts. During that time Apple created their whole M-series ecosystem, proving that ARM is worthy on a desktop.
Qualcomm managed to get somewhat good but it's not power efficient enough to compete with modern Intel and AMD. And not fast enough to fight against M4 and M5 by Apple. But overall when the price goes down, it can be a nice machine: fast, lighter than anything (even MacBooks), almost silent.

Road to Vostok is finally out!
It's early access and so you may experience some issues. But overall based on my demo experience, the performance is solid and for extraction survival it's easy to start.
The initial discussions notice that the game has the vibe but very limited set of features. You can also get more tired if your sleep wasn't long enough (realistic experience imo), or stuck in the infinite damage animation after being shot once. So, I'd not invest right away.

It's possible to make it somewhat good. First, the original image has to be sharp and clean. Lower the filmic grain to the very minimum too.
Then apply the filter mostly to the corners with gradient falloff. Then also set it lower on dark areas. It will leave the effect on bright peripheral areas, which is exactly where it appears on real lenses. With this approach even fairly big values will cause no discomfort for players.
For example, No Man's Sky uses this pattern and people often miss that it has the highest aberration value in history of gaming.

Road to Vostok got over 500 reviews in a few hours and landed at 82% positive reviews on Steam. The number of reviews suggests that he already sold over 15000 copies, probably up to 20000.
Which after all taxes and fees is over $70K in his pocket (most likely more, up to ~$120K).
Not bad for a solo developer but also not the highest conversion rate (he has a lot of followers on social media).

If you're waiting for Pragmata, go watch The Creator: a mysterious AI creature emerged in Asia after years of war. But they send the wrong person to kill it.
A visual masterpiece with dumb writing. Still an absolute marvel to watch as a movie.
To make it look real and immersive the director of Rogue One decided to film the whole movie on a consumer grade Sony Camera. And oh, it worked out!
