Tim Sweeney accidentally fired terminally ill worker who's plan was to die anyway but he lost insurance and his wife had to ask for help. Since it's seemingly impossible to get any new insurance if you're dying.

Tim said he was unaware due to medical confidentiality and now will provide the support and insurance. And the medical condition (since it was not disclosed) was not a factor for layoff.

Valve once faced the same issue in 2004. The writer Erik Wolpaw (Psychonauts (2005), Half-Life 2: Episode One (2006), Portal (2007), Portal 2 (2011) and Half-Life: Alyx (2020)) tried to quit his job due to severe medical terms, but Gabe listened to him and changed his job description to "Get better" and told him that his job now is to go to his wife, spend time with family and get better. And he got!

The biggest AI drama so far: Anthropic accidentally uploaded Claude into public storage. Thousands of people tried to simply re-upload it and faced DMCA strikes.

One mad mind at 4 AM woke up and used Codex AI to rewrite the whole thing into Python and then Rust. The outcome made by another AI is not technically the same as Claude Code itself. So the company struggles to take it down.

And Nintendo's controversial patent is no longer valid. They have some time to appeal but I assume they will not get it anyway.

For context: they are not the authors of the idea, the gameplay feature has been used before them. This case is so bad that it caused changes in the patent office itself.
