And the co-creator of Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Titanfall, and Apex Legends, who is also the lead of Battlefield 6 and Battlefield series as a whole, is asking you to buy games on Steam.

Because Battlefield has a bug on EA App, that makes it believe you don't have a game.

According to several sources, Battlefield 6 surpassed 7m copies. The game is still on the first place on Steam almost a week after the release.

It took Battlefield V about 2 months to reach the same number of copies. And the estimated revenue is about $350m (before tax). Even the premium upgrade is making more $$ than the majority of new releases.

Battlefield 6 got broken after the recent update. The same as it was on release, the game enables hidden Frame Generation, that causes performance issues, mouse movement inconsistency, crashes, and memory leaks.

Technically, Frame Gen looks disabled in the settings, but the game still generates you some frames even if you are already way over 100 FPS. And apparently it's not DLSS or FSR or whatever, it's something different under the hood.

On any hardware!

The whole Steam forum and EA support forum are filled with complaints now. No official response though.

Skate creators from the studio Full Circle will be laid off. The exact number isn't specified but the announcement happened after the team (initially promised to sell only cosmetics), hid the new map (tutorial island reskin) behind the paywall 😑

Overall, the game has a few thousands passionate fans online but that's not enough to support the development at a serious scale. The initial 135K CCU was obviously a hype train, but people are doubtful if live service model was ever a good choice for Skate.

Battlefield 6 team did a good job upon release but it's not catching up with content and bug fixes yet again.

EA is laying off employees to lower the financial pressure from the whole Battlefield franchise.

It seems that the best-selling game of 2025 is also losing players way too fast. In addition to layoffs, EA is launching a free week in Battlefield 6.

EA, let's be real: BF6 is good, 2042 was good after patches (about 2 years since the release), BFV was good about 1.5 years after the release, and I can continue. But this is still basically the same game as 15 years ago. Its current online is the real volume of people willing to play it frequently.
