After all the hate I've heard from the media, it was a surprise to actually watch 28 Years Later. The movie has such an obvious vision and director's view, that it shines regardless of being both disgusting and dorky at the same time.

The kid does an exceptional job, but it would be so much easier to like the whole thing if it was not forging the ground for the sequel.

Bought Dead Island 2 since it is on huge sale. Big mistake and yes, I requested the refund. The visuals are blurry as hell regardless of the settings. Several steps of rendering are blurring every frame in a variety of ways. So you can't fully fix it even…
So, since refunds during sales are processed over a day, I cancelled the Dead Island 2 refund, applied several community fixes, and well, kinda enjoyed the game after that. The whole thing is intentionally dumb, but that's the whole point.

DLCs are must-have (or Ultimate Edition, which is on sale too). There are two very impressive stories in them.

Co-op is optional, but fun. Sadly, I don't see a built-in voice chat, so you better be ready to play with someone you know and talk otherwise.

The team behind Luna Abyss was laid off from Kwalee without a warning. Hollie Emery, the CEO of Kwalee Labs announced it on her LN.

The game has been released less than a month ago and got positive reception from players and media. It sold OK-ish since there was almost no marketing (and I have never heard of it before).

Obsession movie earned 400 times over its $750K budget. But it took way more than a year since filming and up until the release. This whole time the main actress Inde Navarrette was unable to find a new role. Dozens of auditions and nothing.

Instead she had to offer dog walking services and do game streaming marathons. And unlike many other actors she did well in competitive games. Unfortunately for her gaming fans, she's now getting new roles instead.

Backrooms movie is okay but I'm glad I haven't watched it on a big screen. It's slow, deliberately filmed on a bunch of carefully picked cameras and lenses. The director did a good job and deserves the praise.

But there are painfully slow and often unfinished moments mixed with time skips. Which holds it back in a way.

PS. Here's the origin of Backrooms

The studio behind a fairly good boomer horror shooter Crisol apparently closed a few months after the release πŸ˜‘

The game was affordable, reception is good, but sales are still mediocre. Sadly, I haven't even heard of this game before.

According to the ex-employee, the studio is long gone but the publisher is still doing some minimal social media support, so a lot of people mistakenly addressed questions to him and his colleagues.
