MODOR - DR 2

It's a drum - machine, it's digital, it's "sample - free" and it's sounding very nice.

The DR - 2 by Modor, has six voices which are not dedicated to a specific "channel" or slot, so you can use the same instrument up to six times, if in need.

Every synthesis - algorithm, called "drum - model", which is defined as an instrument, has up to twelve parameter.

The sequencer, of the DR -2, can produce up to 128 steps. It has accent, flam (adjustable), tuplet (adjustable), break (immediately silencing a sound), swing and a reverse - function. The sequencer is generating MIDI - notes and "..all 'continuous' sound - parameter accept and transmit Midi Control Changes in realtime."

You can synchronize, this drum - machine, using an analog clock - signal (24 ppqn) or via MIDI - clock.

You can choose, one parameter, of every instrument that can be affected by velocity (beside the volume) and "..you can also choose a separate parameter for every instrument to be altered by a random amount at note start."

The LC - display (16 x 2, green) will give information in latin or cyrillic lettern.

OXI - ONE

The One, by Oxi Instruments, is looking like a powerful tool.

It has eight CV / Gate - output, one CV - in, MIDI (TRS, USB, Bluetooth LE), MIDI - routing to CV (converter), clock - in and - out, LFO, glide, arpeggiator, randomization, scales and selectable root - note, swing, different playback - directions, CC - mod, chord - function, eight voices per step, a variety of parameter per step, display and more.

But, some basic specifications, aren't made clear.

The Website, is declaring the One, as a device with "..4 fully configurable sequences..", but using a specific mode, it will generate eight tracks and the ability to "..unlock thirtytwo tracks.." using MIDI - output.

So, not sure about the terms sequence and track.

Also, the specs - sheet, is talking about "..64 steps per sequence..", while a bit later the website is mentioning "..up to 128 steps per sequence..".

So, please check out the website, to read more about the specifications and possibilities.

KORG - SQ 64

Four tracks, which are polyphonic and polyrhythmic, can be played in different directions and in random - or stochastic - mode.

Three, of them, are melodic - sequences. The fourth track, is dedicated to drum - sequences and has sixteen sub - tracks.

Of course, the melody tracks are only polyphonic, if connected to a MIDI - instrument (eight voices). CV / Gate, can only send one note at a time.

Korg was giving the SQ - 64 sixtyfour steps, sixteen pattern, MIDI - in and two MIDI - out, also USB (including power and MIDI), analog - sync, CV / Gate and modulation - connections, eight trigger - out (drums) and a sync - connection.

And, there is an arpeggiator.

One MIDI - out, can be configured to be a MIDI - thru.

All connections, except the USB - connection (micro, Typ B) are 3.5mm jacks.

The 64 pads can be used as a regular keyboard or in isomorphic - or octave -mode and they've graduated lighting.

A power - adapter, will be available, separately or you can use the USB - socket for power - connection.

The SQ - 64, will be available, in 2021.
