“Yesterday morning Briar retrieved his first banded duck - a hen wood duck who travelled to Tomotley all the way from Pennsylvania! I cannot express the gratitude I have for how blessed I am. To experience Mother Nature and to hunt and harvest our food the way God intended - there is no greater way to live. I thank God every day for his creations, for placing me here and for always helping me to remember to take it all in. I love you!! ❤️”
“The North American Bird Banding program is run by the USGS - the program started in 1960 and since then they have banded over 83 million birds. They use the program to monitor waterfowl migration, calculate waterfowl harvest rates, detect changes in waterfowl populations and help develop affective hunting regulations. It is an accomplishment to harvest a bird that has been banded.”
