ని ప్రభావితం చేశాయో తెలుసుకోవాలని మీ యోచన. మొదట్లో అది మాకు కొంత ఇబ్బందిగా ఉండేది. బహుమతి ఎందుకు వచ్చిందా అనుకునేవాళ్ళం. కానీ రానురాను దానివల్ల మంచి పుస్తకాలు చదవాలన్న ఆసక్తి మాలో కొంతమందికి కలిగింది. నేను ఇప్పుడు ఉద్యోగరీత్యా చాలా ప్రయాణాలు చేస్తూ ఉంటాను.
ఆ సమయాన్ని నేను మంచి పుస్తకాలు చదవడానికి వెచ్చిస్తాను - ఆ పుస్తకాల ప్రేరణతో నేను చాలా మంచి విషయాలు నేర్చుకున్నాను. అవి నా ఉద్యోగంలోనూ నిత్య జీవితంలోనూ ఎంతగానో ఉపయోగపడుతున్నాయి.
మిమ్మల్ని చూసి మేము నేర్చుకున్న ఇంకో విషయం- సమయపాలన. మీరు స్కూలుకి ఎప్పుడూ అందరికంటే ముందు వచ్చేవారు. సాయంత్రం ఎప్పుడైనా ఏ ఉపాధ్యాయుడైనా పని ఉండి స్కూలు వదిలిన తర్వాత కూడా ఉండి, పనిచేసుకుంటూ ఉంటే మీకు అవసరం లేకపోయినా ఆయనకి తోడుగా ఉండేవారు. అది మీ సహోద్యోగులకి మీరిచ్చే ఓ భరోసాలా ఉండేది. ఈ విషయంలో కూడా మిమ్మల్ని నేను అనుకరిస్తూనే ఉన్నాను.
ఇవన్నీ ఎందుకు రాస్తున్నానంటే, మిమ్మల్ని గమనించి ఎన్నో మంచి విషయాలు నేర్చుకున్నాను అనేకంటే, మీరు మీ ప్రవర్తనతో మాటలతో మీకు తెలియకుండానే మాకు ఎన్నో బోధించారు అనడం ఉత్తమం. అప్పుడే కాదు... ఇప్పుడు కూడా.
బహుమతులు చాలామంది ఇస్తారు. కొద్దిమంది ఆ ఇచ్చిన బహుమతి అవతలివారికి ఉపయోగపడేలా ఉండాలని ఆలోచిస్తారు. కానీ, మీ బహుమతి నన్ను ఆలోచించేలా చేసింది. మీరన్నట్లు మామూలుగా అయితే రూ.1,116 నాకు చాలా చిన్న మొత్తమే. కానీ మీరు ఆ మొత్తాన్ని ఓ అనాథశరణాలయానికి విరాళంగా ఇచ్చారు- అదీ నా పేరున.
మీరు చేసిన ఈ గొప్పపని నాలో ఎన్నో ఆలోచనల్ని రేకెత్తించింది. అనేకసార్లు నేను చేసే అనవసర ఖర్చుల్ని గుర్తుచేసింది. మీరు ఇచ్చిన బహుమతిని నేను అప్పుడే అనుకరించేశాను. నా పెళ్ళయిన మూడు రోజులకి మా కజిన్ పెళ్ళి అయ్యింది. వాడికి లెక్కపెట్టలేనంత డబ్బు ఉంది. అందుకని మేమిద్దామనుకున్న రూ.50,000లని ఓ అనాథ శరణాలయానికి వాడి పేరుమీద విరాళంగా ఇచ్చాం. వాడెంత సంతోషించాడో మాటల్లో చెప్పలేను. మీరు మాకు ఓ కొత్త మార్గాన్ని చూపారు. మేమెందరమో ఈ కొత్త దారిలో ప్రయాణించే అవకాశం కల్పించారు.
ఇలా మీరు మీ చర్యలతో మాకు ఎప్పుడూ బోధిస్తూనే ఉన్నారు- ఉద్యోగంలో ఉన్నప్పుడూ రిటైర్‌ అయ్యాకా కూడా. అదే మీ గొప్పతనం.

The Bhagavatham also predicts that all the four legs will not be equally strong over epochs of time - representing the degree of decline of righteousness. In the world, during the Satya Yuga, the first stage of development, the bull would stand firmly on all four legs but as the yugas changed, one by one the legs would be broken and lost until finally in Kali-yuga (the present age) only truthfulness or trust would be the dominant form of Dharma or righteousness.

This humble coffee vendor’s action appears to be proof that as predicted righteousness or dharma still flourishes in this World though it is on its fourth leg of truthfulness.

As I watched the boy move down the compartment, I mentally saluted the coffee vendor!
