After the presence of Morgan Schuster, the American adviser on financial affairs in Iran, Russia gave Iran an ultimatum to expel Schuster. At first, the parliament resisted (second constitutional parliament), but the government dissolved the parliament and accepted the ultimatum. However, the Russians, who were looking for an excuse to kill the army, marched to Tabriz. The constitutionalist Mujahideen resisted stubbornly. But after five days of successful resistance, fresh Russian armies arrived and captured the city under cannons...
