Museum ticket prices in Europe and the U.S. have noticeably increased in recent years.
• In Paris, the Louvre raised its admission fee by 29% (from €17 to €22), citing rising energy costs and support for local residents. This was the first increase in six years. They held on for a long time, and despite the pandemic — that’s cool :)
• In the U.S., prices have risen by 10-15% on average due to higher maintenance costs and decreased donations — which is sad :(
When I visited NYC in 2014, a Met ticket was $23—now it’s $30.

I’ve found the perfect destination and a great reason to travel in 2026 — to visit Barcelona, as they plan to complete the Sagrada Família in time for the 100th anniversary of the death of its amazing architect, Gaudí.
By the way, speaking of Gaudí: he often used unconventional materials and is considered one of the leading figures of Catalan Modernisme, which combines elements of Gothic, Baroque, and Eastern motifs. He employed various methods for designing his buildings, including 3D modeling with ropes and weights to create forms resembling natural structures... and, unfortunately and surprisingly, in 1926, he died due to his own carelessness — he was hit by a tram.
FYI: The Sagrada Família could not be completed due to the complexity of the project, lack of funding, war damages, and difficulties in recreating Gaudí's unique methods.
