Wow! More Paris in New York… New Jersey, oops!
Plans for a satellite location of the Centre Pompidou in New Jersey have been revived, aiming to extend the museum's influence in contemporary art to a broader audience in the U.S. This initiative seeks to make modern and contemporary art more accessible through exhibitions and programs that foster cultural exchange between Europe and the United States. 😎

What do you know about performances? And how about sculptures? A fantastic example is the artist Edward Kienholz, who brilliantly blended these two disciplines, imho. I’m a huge fan of his work because he transforms everyday objects into powerful statements about violence and social issues (which may not sound new...but!). His installations are incredibly striking and really make you reflect on the world around us. Kienholz turns his sculptures into interactive experiences, almost like performances, making you feel like you’re part of the artwork.
I found a 4 min video that showcases his work—check it out asap, and love what I love 😍

Interesting...! 🧐
An AI robot's painting of Alan Turing has sold for $1.08 million, setting a record as the most valuable artwork by a humanoid robot at auction. The sale, handled by Sotheby’s in New York, far exceeded its $120,000-$180,000 estimate, drawing 27 bids before being purchased by an undisclosed buyer. The painting, AI God: Portrait of Alan Turing, was created by Ai-Da, a robot artist developed by British gallerist Aidan Meller.
Turing, a pioneering computer scientist and codebreaker, laid the foundation for modern computing and played a key role in World War II. Despite his groundbreaking work, Turing faced tragic persecution and took his own life in 1954. Meller hopes Ai-Da’s art can serve as a reflection of the future of AI and its role in society.

Did you hear? The Metropolitan Museum of Art has revealed plans for a stunning new five-story wing dedicated to modern and contemporary art, set to open in 2030.
Designed by the talented Frida Escobedo, this impressive wing will cover 126,000 square feet, with $550 million in private donations making it possible. It will house iconic masterpieces from the 20th and 21st centuries, including pieces from the renowned Leonard Lauder Cubist collection.
The expansion will boost the Met's gallery space by 50%, enhance accessibility, and provide jobs for 4,000 union workers. Escobedo's design features a striking limestone celosía facade and a newly relocated sculpture garden. The wing will bear the names of major donors, Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang. 😍

Museum ticket prices in Europe and the U.S. have noticeably increased in recent years.
• In Paris, the Louvre raised its admission fee by 29% (from €17 to €22), citing rising energy costs and support for local residents. This was the first increase in six years. They held on for a long time, and despite the pandemic — that’s cool :)
• In the U.S., prices have risen by 10-15% on average due to higher maintenance costs and decreased donations — which is sad :(
When I visited NYC in 2014, a Met ticket was $23—now it’s $30.

I’ve found the perfect destination and a great reason to travel in 2026 — to visit Barcelona, as they plan to complete the Sagrada Família in time for the 100th anniversary of the death of its amazing architect, Gaudí.
By the way, speaking of Gaudí: he often used unconventional materials and is considered one of the leading figures of Catalan Modernisme, which combines elements of Gothic, Baroque, and Eastern motifs. He employed various methods for designing his buildings, including 3D modeling with ropes and weights to create forms resembling natural structures... and, unfortunately and surprisingly, in 1926, he died due to his own carelessness — he was hit by a tram.
FYI: The Sagrada Família could not be completed due to the complexity of the project, lack of funding, war damages, and difficulties in recreating Gaudí's unique methods.
💡And here is a brief note about the Sagrada Família and old photos for you🙌: https://telegra.ph/Brief-overview-of-the-Sagrada-Fam%C3%ADlia-12-12

When it comes to contemporary artists, I always tell them their work should be shared with the public — art isn’t meant to sit in a drawer. However, when it comes to private collections, it’s a different matter: the owner has every right to decide whether to display the pieces or not.
At the same time, I still find it unfair when such magnificent works remain hidden from view for decades — like Joaquín Sorolla’s Paris Boulevard, which hidden from view for 134 years (👿!!!!) until its remarkable rediscovery with the family who bought it in 1890. Thankfully, we can now finally enjoy it.
FYI: the artist includes himself in the scene, seated at a table with a soldier, casually smoking a cigar. 😊
For now, this masterpiece is on display in Madrid, but I truly hope it makes its way to New York sometime soon.
