πŸš€ Monero Enhances Privacy with Major Upgrade

According to BlockBeats, Monero, a privacy-focused blockchain, has released a significant upgrade aimed at bolstering user protection against 'spy nodes.' Monero operates on a decentralized peer-to-peer (P2P) network, where nodes (computers) connect directly to share and verify transactions and blocks.

Monero's privacy features are supported by several key technologies. Each transaction utilizes a unique stealth address to ensure the recipient's real address remains undisclosed. Ring signatures blend the sender's transaction with other virtual transactions, making it difficult to identify the actual sender of funds. Additionally, ring confidential transactions conceal the transaction amount, further enhancing privacy.

πŸš€ Ethereum Developers Set Deadlines for Upcoming Glamsterdam Upgrade

According to PANews, the 223rd Ethereum Execution Layer Core Developers Meeting (ACDE) outlined key deadlines for the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade. Developers have set October 30 as the deadline for submitting EIP proposals, with the final scope of code changes to be confirmed by November 27.

A significant focus of the meeting was the Fusaka mainnet timeline. Ethereum Foundation coordinator Alex Stokes proposed December 3, 2025, for the Fusaka mainnet upgrade, with subsequent Blob Parameter Optimization (BPO) scheduled for December 9 and January 7, 2026. All execution layer client teams, including Geth, Nethermind, Reth, Besu, and Erigon, agreed on the feasibility of this timeline.

The Hoodi testnet is set to activate the Fusaka version on October 28, marking the final test upgrade before the mainnet launch. Meanwhile, the Holesky testnet is expected to close next week.

For the Glamsterdam upgrade, developers plan to launch a multi-client developer testnet to test the Block Access Lists (BALs) feature. Key deadlines include proposal submission by October 30, client team feedback by November 6, and final scope confirmation by November 27. The Ethereum Cat Herders team will hold open office hours on October 28 to assist EIP authors with proposal submissions.

In technical discussions, EF researcher Maria Silva presented two options to enhance Gas unit precision, with plans to convert related research into EIPs for consideration in the Glamsterdam upgrade. Additionally, EIP 8058 proposes a "deduplication discount" for developers deploying the same contract multiple times to reduce state bloat.

Proposals EIP 7667 and EIP 6873, both related to Verkle data structures, have been removed from consideration as they no longer align with the current roadmap.

Stokes emphasized that the core objective is to finalize the technical scope of Glamsterdam by the end of November, laying the groundwork for the mainnet upgrade by the end of the year.

πŸš€ Ethereum Developers Plan 'Glamsterdam' Upgrade for 2026

According to BlockBeats, Ethereum developers have initiated plans for the 'Glamsterdam' upgrade, aiming for a 2026 launch following the successful Fusaka upgrade, which reduced node costs. The name 'Glamsterdam' combines two simultaneous upgrades on Ethereum's core layers. The execution layer, responsible for transaction rules and smart contracts, will undergo the Amsterdam upgrade, while the consensus layer, which coordinates validators and finalizes blocks, will experience the Gloas upgrade. The upgrade focuses on proposer-builder separation (ePBS) and block-level access control lists to minimize manipulation and abuse opportunities related to maximum extractable value (MEV).

πŸš€ Sui Mainnet Upgrades to Version 1.63.3 with Protocol Enhancements

According to Foresight News, the Sui mainnet has been upgraded to version 1.63.3, alongside a protocol upgrade to version 107. This update includes improvements to the path for transactions and states to reach final confirmation directly. It also addresses an issue where rejected transactions could lead to a lack of consensus among validation nodes. Additionally, the upgrade prohibits the use of validation nodes for transaction signatures and the submission of aggregated validation node signature transactions via the RPC interface.

πŸš€ Ethereum Developers Face Challenges in Glamsterdam Upgrade Timeline

Ethereum developers are confronting significant challenges in aligning the scope and timeline for the Glamsterdam upgrade, according to PANews. During the 173rd Ethereum consensus layer core developers meeting, it was acknowledged that substantial reductions in the upgrade's scale might be necessary to meet the mid-year launch target. Although developers have not explicitly confirmed a mismatch between the upgrade's scope and the proposed timeline, they recognize the potential issue and aim to resolve it by the end of February.

The meeting discussed the possibility of removing EIP 7732 from Glamsterdam if an interoperable version cannot be achieved by late February, postponing it to a future hard fork. Additionally, updates on other developments were shared: Consensys' Teku client team reported node performance issues discovered during mainnet stress testing, which are being addressed and have delayed their participation in Glamsterdam. EIP 7928 requires minor API change reviews by consensus layer clients, while the deadline for submitting the Headliner EIP proposal for the Hegota upgrade is February 4. Some client teams have completed preliminary work on library updates to support EIP-7688.

πŸš€ Ethereum Researcher Proposes Anti-Censorship Feature for 2026 Upgrade

Ethereum researcher Thomas Thiery, also known as soispoke, has proposed the inclusion of FOCIL as a core anti-censorship feature in the upcoming Hegota upgrade. According to BlockBeats, Hegota is Ethereum's second major upgrade scheduled for the latter half of 2026. FOCIL is a protocol layer mechanism that modifies Ethereum's fork choice rules, enforcing the inclusion of any valid transaction into on-chain blocks within a limited timeframe. This mechanism allows multiple validators to collectively enforce transaction inclusion, rather than relying on a single block builder.

The primary aim of this proposal is to reduce Ethereum's dependency on centralized validators, thereby mitigating potential risks of large-scale transaction censorship in the future. This enhancement is intended to bolster Ethereum's core value as a neutral and censorship-resistant blockchain. Thiery emphasized that without FOCIL, the protocol could be vulnerable to significant censorship events. He advocates for Ethereum to proactively design long-term resilience instead of passively responding to sudden censorship challenges.

πŸš€ Binance Futures to Upgrade WebSocket URL Architecture for Enhanced Stability

According to the announcement from Binance, the company has upgraded its USDβ“ˆ-M Futures WebSocket URL architecture to support sustained growth in WebSocket traffic and enhance overall stability and scalability. This new structure aims to separate traffic by data categoryβ€”Public, Market, and Privateβ€”thereby providing clearer routing, improved connection management, and better operational isolation.

The upgrade introduces three dedicated WebSocket base URLs: Public for high-frequency public market data, Market for regular market data, and Private for user data streams. The URLs are as follows: wss://fstream.binance.com/public for Public, wss://fstream.binance.com/market for Market, and wss://fstream.binance.com/private for Private. Both ws mode (path-based subscription) and stream mode (?streams=; Private uses listenKey + events) remain supported, along with combined streams. The Private URL supports listenKey + events subscription, allowing for multiple listenKeys and multiple events.

The new endpoints are available immediately, and users are advised to migrate to the new /public, /market, and /private WebSocket base URLs. This migration should be completed before 2026-04-23 to avoid trading interruptions when legacy URLs are permanently retired. An example of the new method includes Public (ws mode) at wss://fstream.binance.com/public/ws/btcusdt@depth, Market (stream mode) at wss://fstream.binance.com/market/stream?streams=btcusdt@markPrice, and Private (listenKey + events) at wss://fstream.binance.com/private/ws?listenKey=&events=ORDER_TRADE_UPDATE.

Users can find more information about endpoint and stream mapping in the API Change Log and the full API documentation on Binance Futures. It is crucial for users to ensure streams are routed to the correct endpoint category to maintain uninterrupted trading services.
