🚀 Ethereum Developer Proposes Running Beacon Chain on RISC-V

According to Odaily, Ethereum developer Rick Dudley recently suggested on X that running the Beacon Chain on RISC-V and subsequently operating the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) within it would be highly beneficial. Dudley expressed his keen interest in managing this project.

In response, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin acknowledged that a significant portion of the existing Ethereum validity proof formal verification roadmap involves verifying and deploying the EVM within RISC-V. Buterin recommended that Dudley get in touch with Alexander Hicks, who is responsible for Ethereum's formal verification and artificial intelligence.

🚀 StarkWare CEO Supports New Ethereum Virtual Machine Proposal

According to Foresight News, StarkWare CEO Eli Ben-Sasson has expressed support for the proposal to add a new virtual machine to Ethereum. However, he disagrees with adopting the RISC-V architecture. Ben-Sasson suggests considering virtual machine solutions specifically designed for blockchain and zkSTARK, such as Cairo, Valida, Miden, or Zisc, or developing an entirely new virtual machine.

🚀 Succinct Advances ZK Proofs for Arbitrum with Key Milestone

According to Foresight News, Succinct has announced a significant advancement in providing zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs for Arbitrum. The company has successfully verified real Arbitrum blocks, including those involving Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) smart contracts written in Solidity and Stylus smart contracts written in Rust and C languages.

To achieve this milestone, Succinct developed several features within its SP1 proof system. These include memory access management and the capability to convert WebAssembly (WASM) code into the RISC-V architecture.

Earlier this year, in August, Succinct entered into an exclusive one-year partnership with Tandem to deliver ZK proofs for Arbitrum.

🚀 ZKsync Unveils 2026 Roadmap with Focus on Privacy and Integration

According to Foresight News, ZKsync has announced its roadmap for 2026, highlighting advancements in privacy chain infrastructure and integration. The roadmap includes Prividium, which aims to evolve from a privacy engine to bank-grade infrastructure, emphasizing enterprise-level encryption technology with privacy as a default cornerstone. It also focuses on direct integration with enterprise systems and workflows, enabling the deployment of privacy applications akin to standard enterprise infrastructure.

The ZK Stack is set to transition from independent chains to a collaborative system, with application chains becoming central components of the stack. This will allow applications to operate seamlessly between public and private ZK chains, integrating liquidity and shared infrastructure natively without the need for cross-chain operations.

Furthermore, the open-source RISC-V proof system, Airbender, is designed to advance from a high-speed zkVM to a universal standard. It aims to evolve from pure speed to prioritize trust, usability, security, formal rigor, and top-tier developer experience. Airbender will serve ZKsync, Ethereum, and applications beyond the crypto sector.

🚀 Ethereum L2 Project Linea Adopts RISC-V Architecture

Ethereum Layer 2 project Linea has announced a shift to the RISC-V architecture, according to Foresight News. Alexandre Belling, a cryptography researcher at Linea, revealed the decision at Ethproofs, citing the need to rewrite constraint modules with each Ethereum hard fork as a major factor. This shift aims to reduce complexity and enhance performance.

RISC-V architecture offers 32 registers and approximately 40 instructions, providing a narrower tracking range for proof systems. This allows for real-time construction and immediate processing of proof fragments. Additionally, RISC-V features a narrower execution path and Type-1 compatibility, while maintaining zkC (constraint native language), Vortex, Arcane (proof/aggregation stack), and formal verification.

Linea noted that this move aligns closely with the Ethereum Foundation's ongoing RISC-V roadmap, with further technical details expected to be released in the coming weeks.
