The U.S. Air Force has successfully tested a new missile powered by a liquid rocket engine, capable of reaching hypersonic speeds, according to The Hill. The test was conducted at Ohio's Wright-Patterson Air Force Base by the Air Force Research Laboratory in collaboration with a defense systems contractor.
Jason Bartolomei, the commander of the Air Force Research Laboratory and Air Force Technology Executive Officer, stated, "This project demonstrates our ability to transform and leverage our procurement model to rapidly deliver critical advanced technologies, deterring adversaries and securing victory in future conflicts.
