A2 level response:

The last time I went on a picnic was a few months ago with my family. It was a sunny day, perfect for outdoor activities. We went to a nearby park that had a beautiful lake and green grass. We prepared sandwiches, fruits, and drinks to enjoy during the picnic. We spread out a blanket under a shady tree and sat together, taking in the peaceful surroundings. It was a delightful experience to spend quality time together and enjoy nature.

B1 level response:

My most recent picnic was about two weeks ago. The weather was ideal, with clear skies and a gentle breeze. Some friends and I planned a day trip to a local nature reserve. We packed a variety of snacks, including sandwiches, chips, and fruits. As soon as we arrived at the reserve, we found a scenic spot with a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. We laid out a big picnic blanket and began indulging in our tasty treats while engaging in lively conversations. It was a perfect opportunity to relax, appreciate nature, and bond with friends.

B2 level response (IELTS level):

I have vivid memories of my last picnic, which took place during the summer holidays. It was a spontaneous decision made by a group of close friends looking for a memorable outdoors experience. We carefully selected a picturesque location, a secluded spot near a tranquil river away from the bustling city. The weather couldn't have been better, with the sun shining brightly and a cool breeze blowing through the trees. We prepared an assortment of mouthwatering delicacies, including gourmet sandwiches, refreshing salads, and homemade lemonade. The highlight of the picnic, however, was the delicious grilled chicken we cooked on a portable barbecue. The aroma of the sizzling meat filled the air, attracting the attention of nearby picnickers. We spent the day lounging on comfortable blankets, engaging in laughter-filled conversations, and occasionally dipping our toes into the refreshing river. It was an idyllic day of relaxation, culinary indulgence, and cherished friendships. This picnic reinforced the importance of taking time to appreciate nature's beauty and savoring the company of loved ones.

IELTS SPEAKING Part 1 : Shopping

Do you often go shopping for personal items?

๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
When I can afford it yes โ€ฆ my college is in the city centre and I do a lot of window shopping โ€ฆ but being a student Iโ€™m on a tight budget so I have to be careful with money โ€ฆ

Are there many shops where you live?

๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Weโ€™ve got a few local shops nearby and a few independent stores but none of the big high street names โ€ฆ I have to go into town for them โ€ฆ

Do you enjoy shopping?

๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
It depends โ€ฆ I hate it when the sales are on โ€ฆ crowds of people all trying to snap up a bargain โ€ฆ I find it all a bit stressful โ€ฆ I also get annoyed when shop assistants try to give me the hard sell when all I want to do is look around โ€ฆ

๐Ÿ—ฃIELTS Speaking part 2

Describe a time when you bought something for someone. You should say

when this was
what is was you bought
who you bought it for
and say how you felt about buying it for them.

๐Ÿ—ฃIโ€™d like to tell you about the time โ€ฆ about four years ago โ€ฆ my husband and I bought a computer for our daughter โ€ฆ she was about to go to university and weโ€™d promised her we would treat her to one โ€ฆ at the time there had been a big advertising campaign for the latest Apple Macbook and our daughter was very keen to have one โ€ฆ she kept telling us they were value for money โ€ฆ even though they seemed very expensive to us โ€ฆ anyway we tried to shop around to see if we could pick up a bargain โ€ฆ this was in the middle of the summer sales and wherever you went prices were being slashed on big brand names โ€ฆ but unfortunately not Apple products โ€ฆ we ended up having to pay the full price โ€ฆ I remember my daughter justifying the cost by pointing out how nice the Apple carrier bag was โ€ฆ but it was lovely to see her so excited and the customer service sheโ€™s received during the four years sheโ€™s had it has been excellent โ€ฆ so it was value for money after all โ€ฆ

๐Ÿ—ฃ IELTS Speaking part 3

Examiner: Do you think we will stop using paper money in the future?

๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
I think itโ€™s almost certain โ€ฆ at the moment itโ€™s still possible to pay in cash but Iโ€™m sure this will change โ€ฆ the problem is people are more likely to get into debt and run up a credit card bill when this happens.

Examiner: How do companies encourage the consumer to spend their money?

๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ Well
โ€ฆ a recent development in my country is something called โ€˜Black Fridayโ€™ where people are encouraged to shop until they drop and buy the latest must-have products โ€ฆ then there are things like loyalty cards to get the customer back in the store โ€ฆ

Examiner: What do you think shops need to do to create a positive shopping experience?

๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
The main thing for me is not being pressurised to buy โ€ฆ I appreciate that shop assistants are probably on commission but if Iโ€™m looking for clothes for example I like to take my time โ€ฆ to try something on โ€ฆ and to ask for help if I need it

Speaking Interview(IELTS)

Interviewer: Can you tell me a little about your family?
Student: "Sure. My nuclear family is large; it includes my parents and my three siblings. My extended family is also quite large. We are a very happy family and we often gather together to discuss any problems and share time."

Interviewer: How important is family to you, and why?
Student: "Family is very important to me because family members always help each other in difficult situations. For example, when I was broke, my family supported and helped me."

Interviewer: Do you spend a lot of time with your family? Why or why not?
Student: "I used to spend a lot of time with my family when I was a child, but now I have a job and need to focus on my own work. Because of that, I can't be with my family as much as I used to."

Interviewer: Do you think the roles of family members have changed compared to the past?
Student: "Yes, it has changed. I remember my father was the breadwinner, but now he is retired. Because of that, I have to take on more responsibility and support my family."

Interviewer: How do you think technology has affected family relationships?
Student: "In my opinion, technology has affected family relationships negatively. In the past, when we had problems, we would discuss them face-to-face. Now, we often rely on phones and text messages, which makes us feel a bit distant from each other."

Interviewer: What values do you think are important to maintain strong family ties?
Student: "There are many values important for maintaining strong family ties, but the most crucial one is to respect each other. When family members respect one another, it creates a supportive and loving environment."
