๐ธ The legalization through long-term illegal residence of 7 years is abolished and subsequent applications for asylum are restricted to prevent exploitation of the system
๐ธ Illegals can also be detained (with ankle monitors) up for 2 years without appeals having a suspensive effect on the detention
๐ธ The deadline for voluntary return was shortened to 14 days
๐ธ Refusing to provide biometric data may lead to the denial of asylum applications as well as not having a job or moving constantly without notifying the authorities

๐ธ Over the past week, 313 illegal immigrants were "rescued" while heading to Gavdos island, near Crete.
โผ๏ธ Gavdos has a total of 142 native residents that live in the island permanently
๐ธ The illegal immigrants reported that they paid between 2.500 to 4.000 Euros per person to be smuggled into Europe
โ ๏ธ Since August 18, illegal immigrants arriving to the islands are considered Detainees and are not being transferred to Mainland Greece, the ones arriving to Gavdos are transferred to Crete and held there

๐ธ The illegal immigrants set fire to clothes and other objects in the courtyard because are not eligible for asylum and are not allowed to leave the facility. The fire did not spread or cause other damages
๐ธ 2 Police officers were injured, one was hit by a rock and another one bitten while making an arrest
๐ธ 25 people were arrested and the police will use surveillance cameras to identify other individuals involved in the riot

๐ธ This is due to the fact that smugglers have been successful in transporting illegal immigrants to the island of Gavdos south of Crete and due to the illegals not being deported the destination became popular among smugglers

๐ธ The first frigate called "Kimon" was received and is already operational, being the most advanced ship in the eastern mediterranean
โผ๏ธ The Greek Government has purchased a fourth unit that will be delivered in 2028, named "Themistocles"
โ ๏ธ The 3 initial frigates "Kimon", "Nearchos" and "Formion" will be equipped with Scalp Naval (MdCN), a cruise missile with an effective range of 1000 Kilometers (621.37 miles). The next two will be delivered in 2026
๐ The frigates also have the integrated sensor network PSIM (Panoramic Sensor Intelligence Module), where almost all of the warshipโs sensor systems are gathered, the advanced anti-submarine warfare sonar, type CAPTAS-4 and the full digital Sea Fire radar
