🔴 Greek Government might sign foreign work agreement with India
>https://archive.is/aFj1f

🔸 Greece is one step away from signing the intergovernmental agreement to receive workers from India

‼️ According to Proto Thema, India is interested – at least in the first phase – in sending approximately 50,000 skilled and unskilled workers per year within the framework of the intergovernmental agreement that is expected to be signed

“Attracting Indian workers fills critical gaps in the Greek labor market, mainly in agriculture, manufacturing and construction. At the same time, it strengthens the competitiveness of businesses and creates new jobs, maintaining social balance and economic progress” - said Angelos Tsavdaris, the president of the Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Economy.

🔸 The process is designed to proceed through interstate agreements, some already concluded and others under discussion with additional countries

🔴 Germany cut funding to NGOs operating in the Mediterranean
>https://archive.is/1LPTj

"I do not believe that this falls within the remit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs" - German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Johann Wadephul

🔸 In 2022, funding of 2.000.000 euros per year was approved for the period 2023-2026. Initially, the money was to be allocated entirely to German rescue initiatives.

🔸 After intense criticism, the Foreign Ministry decided to give about a quarter of the money to the Catholic community of Sant'Egidio for the care of people seeking protection in Italy. In 2023 and 2024, maritime rescue initiatives such as SOS Humanity, Sea-Eye, and SOS Méditerranée were funded

🔸 NGOs have already written letters of protest and obviously oppose the move, but the German government is not showing signs of turning back on it

🇬🇷 Greece deploys navy to Crete amid migrant surge—Europe’s urban security crisis deepens

A dramatic surge in migrant arrivals to Crete—over 7,300 so far this year—has pushed Greece into deploying naval frigates and patrol ships. With smugglers steering boats from Libya through a riskier Mediterranean route, local shelters are now overwhelmed, straining law enforcement and coastal communities. Meanwhile, hundreds of migrants are still being rescued in scattered operations elsewhere, increasing landing hotspots—from Gavdos to mainland ports.

We confront an alarming trend: Europe’s borders are fraying, and the fallout is spilling into urban spaces. It’s not just about boats—it’s about the capacity of governments to manage chaos rising from the sea.

🔺 Controlled areas, uncontrolled problems – Naval patrols can deter departures, but they do little to help overwhelmed islands filled with people needing shelter, care, and long-term solutions.

🔺 Pressure on services – Crete’s reception centres are buckling. Local policing, healthcare, housing—all are at tipping point, shifting the cost of crisis onto everyday communities.

🔺 Criminal networks thrive – As smugglers bypass front-line patrols, they pivot inland. Disorganized landings feed gang exploitation, illegal housing markets, and ungoverned urban zones.

🔺 Europe on the back foot – While leaders mull offshore "return hubs," real-time breakdowns play out in towns and neighborhoods—where fears rise and trust erodes.

Greece’s naval operation may stem the flow at sea, but it won’t fill boats with beds, schools, or social order. If you're worried about your community's future—this is where Europe is losing control.

‼️⚠️ IMPORTANT ⚠️‼️

🔴 Plevris: "Anyone who enters the country illegally will not be legalized and will not be entitled to asylum"
>archive.ph/r0R5M

🔸 Thanos Plevris, the new Greek Immigration Minister made a statement reiterating his will to reform the current system and limit illegal immigrant's options to become legal

‼️ Plevris vowed to continue the policy already set in motion by his predecessor, Makis Voridis, which would make the immigration process stricter (but still not strict enough as Voridis was anything but anti-immigration). Voridis almost completed his draft bill

⚠️ Such bill seems to follow the basic principle that no illegal immigrant will be able to legalize their status in the country AND abolishes the "seven-year rule" which until now allowed a person who remained in Greece for seven consecutive years to be legalized

🔸 During Voridis' term, over 70% of asylum applicants were given refugee status on their first try and his "hard stance" was just for show

🔴 Dozens of Turkish fishing ships began operating in the Cyclades yesterday
>https://archive.is/psRNw

🔸 Yesterday 30/06/25, several Turkish Fishing Ships (in yellow) started operating within Greek EEZ

🔸 It is a well known strategy and maneuver of Turkish foreign policy to challenge Greek EEZ and create tensions

🔺 Turkish Ships can be seen in Yellow

/GBG/

🟢 What is left to see is if the Mitsotakis government will also approach this situation with their new chameleon posture and be a bit more hardline against Turkish provocations as well

🟢 A reminder to those unaware is that Turkey refuses to sign UNCLOS (international maritime law) due to the fact that it would favor Greece more than themselves, so they challenge it constantly in the Aegean despite adopting UNCLOS standards to define their maritime territory in the black sea

🇨🇾🇮🇱🇹🇷 | As Iranian and Pro-Palestine agitators push narratives against Cypriot Government over its ties with Tel Aviv & London, it is important to remind:
➡️ Cyprus is already under occupation -  militarily, politically and demographically.

🇹🇷 However, unlike the one hinted by them, this occupation in real world isn't by the "evil zionists", but by the Muslim Majority Türkiye.

➡️ In 1974, Turkey invaded Cyprus TWICE within three weeks.

➡️ Turkey has been trying from 1950’s to dismember Cyprus by ethnically cleansing and appropriating the properties of Greek, Armenian and Maronite Cypriots from the northern third of Cyprus.

➡️ Since then, Turkey has continued to import Turkish settlers destroying even the Turkish Cypriot community in its attempt to control the future of the occupied territories.

🔥 Repeatedly there has been protests by local Cypriot Turks against Ankara over its backing of Islamist policies against the will of the population, which is majority secular and Kemalist.

Turkey is an occupier.
Turkey is an invader.
Turkey is an genocidal entity built on the blood of innocent people.

🇪🇺 Cyprus is the only European Union Country under a Direct Military Occupation since the start of the Bloc's formation.

Thus, If there's anything that Cyprus should be freed from is from Turkish occupation

🔴 The reality of deportations in Greece and Cyprus
>Eurostat

🔸 While Greece has nominated a new immigration minister, who also happens to be seen as a "radical", Greece is still deporting less illegal immigrants than Cyprus

🔸 According with Eurostat, in 2024, Cyprus has deported 815 illegal immigrants (from pakistan alone*), while Greece deported only 375 during 2024.

‼️ In 2025 (first quarter/trimester), despite Greece's growing attempts to claim it has taken a stronger stance against illegal immigration and steps towards increasing deportation it has deported only 130 illegal immigrants (from pakistan alone*) while Cyprus has deported 215

⚠️ * Eurostat somehow only has data related to Pakistanis being deported from Greece and Cyprus

🔍 Other countries were added for perspective as well as other nationalities of immigrants which did not change the values for Greece and Cyprus

🔴 Greek Government finally taking measures to curb immigration
>archive.is/1pvMX
>archive.is/W4ccF

🔸 Greece is reportedly considering or implementing several new measures regarding illegal immigration:

🚔 Detention and Deportation – Detain illegal immigrants upon arrival, before they apply for asylum, and deport them as quickly as possible

⚠️ Asylum Suspension – Suspend new asylum applications for 3 months, similar to Cyprus’ 2024 policy

👦🏾 Proposed Measures – Lower the legal age of majority for male immigrants to 16 and cut at least 30% from housing and catering contracts for illegal immigrants (not yet approved)

🔬 Age Verification – Use scientific methods to verify age; refusal will result in being treated as an adult.

👮🏻‍♂️ Penalties – Illegal entry or remaining after asylum refusal may lead to 2–5 years in detention and fines of up to €10,000.

⚠️ The Greek government tends to not follow up with their promises, this should be taken with a grain of salt

🔴 Explaining the lowering of legal age of majority for illegal immigrants
>archive.is/CSqN8

🔸 The ministry of immigration and asylum has put forward an amendment to reduce the legal age of majority for "unaccompanied minors" in Greece, from 18 to 16, this measure would affect only the males, with the girl's legal age of majority remaining at 18

⚠️ According with government data, Greece currently houses 1,544 unaccompanied minors
🔺 70% of these minors are boys aged 16 to 18 (1,047)
🔺Only 8% of the 1544 are girls of all ages
🔺 The remaining 22% are boys under 16 years of age

‼️ It is extremely important to note that in recent years Greece sadly chose to make it a lot easier for illegal immigrants to gain citizenship after residing in Greece for a certain number of years, that being especially true for the ones who entered the country as "unaccompanied minors"
