Do you know that Battlefield 4 used to have the official ringtones? Just set the main theme for calls and stinger bzz for notifications.

It's horrible,
I love it 😍

Microslop: never stop sloppin!

The post is not fully correct: using this checkbox on an expensive microphone was always wrong. Such mics should only be managed via their custom apps to get proper results.

Hard times, folks: apparently Free Public Domain music project is down now...

You can get what's left of it from Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20251208013136/https://freepd.com/downloads/

People found out that Steam Controller can occasionally do a Wilhelm scream when dropped.

I'm not even sure if it's true and meme by Valve or a meme by the community and Mandela effect.

This crap haunted me for years: if you have a very odd sound on your game or screen recordings on Windows (the exact app doesn't matter), that's because Audio Enhancements were never supposed to be done before such recordings.

And they are wrongly applied on record, then re-applied again on playback. Which makes it sound like a reverb, echo, or cropped sound.

Disable Enhancements in the settings of the specific device, then in your software (OBS / NVIDIA / etc.) do not use the "default" device, pick the exact one.

Also make sure that you run on the same frequency (usually 48KHz) in both recording app and the device. 24 or 32 bits are preferable.

Now you're good.
