No, Google Play, I definitely don't! Imagine that someone is telling you "wanna receive spam?" when your try to close the app store...

Google rolled out their new AI assistant Gemini and forcibly disabled certain features of the old Assistant.

For example: Gemini can't search your screen on demand so Google decided that... old assistant also shouldn't and disabled this feature for everyone. Now whether you allow Gemini or not, screen search button does nothing.

It's evolving, just backwards... #Google #Android

This is devastating: Amazon is giving up on Android!

There were startups with huge focus on Amazon publishing deals to support and maintain versions run by other teams for Google Play. It was somewhat a competition to prevent the monopoly of Google.

Amazon app store will be shut down on August 20, 2025. It was initially launched in spring of 2011.

Β· The Google Play Store now has an app quality warning.
Β· If an app has a potential issue with its overall quality, a yellow alert box on its Play Store page will inform you.
Β· Warnings include frequent uninstalls, less frequent engagement, and a low user count.

It still blows my mind that Godot Engine is also available on Android. People from developing countries are often unable to buy computers and still have a passion to try out SOME game development.

Do I recommend it? Nope: it's far behind the full version, mostly due to bad Android drivers and inconsistent features support. Even on Qualcomm 888 Plus it works extremely slow and yes, you'd better have a USB dongle, keyboard, and mouse.

And while we're all guessing about Valve plans on Half-Life 3, they are releasing Android apps on Steam... for VR (XR) devices!

That's for Steam Frame, but copium makes people believe that Steam will get a fully functional Android launcher.

Do you know that you can officially link any Windows 10 and 11 PC to your phone? I usually remove Phone Link app, but decided to give it a go. Ain't bad. Yes, I've been annoyed by Apple fan who belived it only exists on mac...

Both Android and iOS are supported, you are free to limit what the app can do or get access to. I'm only using it to share files and media, but you can:

- Make calls
- Use SMS
- Find your phone
- Lock phone or PC
- Use a shared clipboard

And do tons of other things. It's fairly seamless and customizable. I didn't give it any access to calls, contacts, or messages, but keep notifications and files on.

Blender is slowly getting there for Android tablets (and then smartphones).

https://www.blender.org/download/demo/tablet/blender-demo-bcon2026.apk β€” this is a fairly early on demo but at current pace the fully usable release is a year or two away.

Wasn't there a version already? Unofficial ports existed for some years.

How about iPad? Plans for iPad were dropped when Apple refused to provide any support (not material, engineering). There's the unofficial one though.
