3. Shut it down and lay off people
4. Then it's competitor Roblox is the most popular game on PlayStation in 2023!

This could be SONY's magnum opus, but became the biggest failure, probably more devastating, than the Microsoft vs Sony debates in the court.

The Mirror, started as #GodotEngine fork turned into the #Roblox kind of app, is now becoming #FOSS.

So the app developers will cut their fee on additional content and features but overall the app and the server are now open source. Which means instead of making yet another Roblox, like The Core and Everywhere (by BaRB), they are making "the app to make yet another Roblox of your own". Which may be a wise move.

Yes, let's never forget how PlayStation secretly buried their most valuable asset, that without overestimating costs BILLIONS:

— Audio editor
— Video editor
— 3D sculpting
— 2D/3D animation
— No-code programming

All made by the creators of Little Big Planet, Media Molecule. And never properly supported by Sony. The thing that could challenge Roblox and truly make people use PSN accounts on PC. If only!

Do you know that there's a free scratch-like plugin for Godot Engine? It's called Block Coding, the results are anyway converted to GDScript and so they are not slower than GDScript on runtime.

Okay, I also made a game to check out how Scratch works: press 🟩 flag to start playing, use AD to turn left and right.

My verdict: it's fairly limited but also fairly capable. Certain things are done more or less as you would make in code, some require more steps, others are just impossible.

Hitman creators from IOI announced that their publishing deal with Build a Rocket Boy is over. The one and only Mindseye game is now fully under BARB control.

Mindseye was the worst game of 2025 and led to financial issues for the studio and the publisher. Despite it was founded by the GTA veteran Leslie Benzies and costs over $200m to make, Mindseye was barely even a game. A few hours of repetitive gameplay, broken open world, poor shooting, and tons of bugs.

The studio have created the sandbox environment Everywhere with Unreal Engine and wanted it to compete with Roblox and UEFN. The similar (but better optimized) project Core got a very moderate success but Everywhere wasn't even released.

Mindseye made with the sandbox tools was mediocre at best, but BARB blamed: spies, media conspiracy, and Rockstar sabotage. Not their own mismanagement! And now the studio is left with unreleased sandbox app and a failed game.
