After all these years, STALKER 2 team finally rolled out a trailer that makes sense to me: they showcase it as a survival game with weapons!

The game also looks very old fashioned in terms of visuals: baked lighting, hard shadows, noticeable polygons on models around. And you know what? IMO: it's more appealing than blurry modern games.

There's something wrong with modern marketing! Apparently, there's a cool-looking action survival game, a British version of Atomic Heart, hehe, but I never heard of it until right now!

There are more trailers available and the creators were mostly inspired by Fallout: New Vegas in terms of world-building.

DICE no longer believes that they can just release games and patch them out in a couple of years. Instead, they launched BF LABS — a community testing environment to try out the upcoming game before it get into the final shape.

Road to Vostok is finally out!

It's early access and so you may experience some issues. But overall based on my demo experience, the performance is solid and for extraction survival it's easy to start.

The initial discussions notice that the game has the vibe but very limited set of features. You can also get more tired if your sleep wasn't long enough (realistic experience imo), or stuck in the infinite damage animation after being shot once. So, I'd not invest right away.

Road to Vostok got over 500 reviews in a few hours and landed at 82% positive reviews on Steam. The number of reviews suggests that he already sold over 15000 copies, probably up to 20000. Which after all taxes and fees is over $70K in his pocket (most likely…
And in a day Road to Vostok paid off for "years of development". The creator is extremely thankful for the community and promises to make the game even better.

At current rate of reviews it can be up to $500K of post tax revenue for mostly a solo developed game.

If anyone asks you about successful Godot Engine games: Buckshot Roulette, Slay the Spire 2, and Road to Vostok all made it to commercial success recently.
