Physics in games is such a forbidden knowledge, that modern developers can't make a fabric in games, which was absolutely possible 20 years ago!

To be even more precise: Ico from 2001 used to have a fairly good cloth simulation, which was 24 years ago. And Red Faction from the same year. How did we end up with THIS?

Not a fan of the channel (as it often lacks depth during the talk), but the research he discovered is indeed interesting:

A new collision solver, working on raw meshes instead of colliders.

It splits everything into chunks, computes intersections in each chuck, and makes volumetric force fields as the output.
