A view off the northeastern U.S. today via @NOAA's #GOESEast πŸ›°οΈ reveals beautiful #CloudStreets streaming over the Atlantic. These rows of clouds form when cold Arctic air blows over the relatively warmer water, picking up vapor. This then cools and sinks, forming parallel cylinders of rotating air.

This morning, @NOAA's #GOESEast πŸ›°οΈ had a beautiful view of #CloudStreets streaming off the northeastern U.S.

These long rows of cumulus clouds are oriented parallel to the wind direction, and form when cold air flows over the warmer water of the Atlantic Ocean.

With help from @NOAA’s #GOESEast πŸ›°οΈ, today we’re watching #CloudStreets streaming off the northeastern U.S.

These delicate-looking clouds are caused by cold air moving over warmer ocean water.

Also spot the #snow on the ground in New York peeking out from behind cloud cover. πŸ”

This morning, @NOAA's #GOESEast πŸ›°οΈ can see some textbook #CloudStreets, or bands of cumulus clouds, streaming off the East Coast. They form when cold air moves over the relatively warmer water, picking up heat and moisture that condenses in parallel rows of clouds. https://t.co/fbjUXsbWro

Enhanced-color imagery from @NOAA’s #GOESEast (#GOES19) πŸ›°οΈ is helping highlight areas of #snowfall on the ground (red shading) after the recent #WinterStorm in the Northeast. We can also see long, organized rows of clouds known as #CloudStreets streaming off the coast, which form when cold air moves over warmer water.
