*Grid Integration of Electric Vehicles(EVs) : Wired and Wireless Solutions*

Global concerns relating to air-quality and depleting fossil reserves are further exacerbated by the rapidly escalating number of vehicles on roads around the world . Although electric vehicles (EVs) are gaining wider acceptance as the means of future transport , addressing these concerns , an efficient , compact and reliable power electronics interface is essential for grid integration of EVs . This seminar presents trends together with the latest advances in grid integration of EVs and its impact on the power grid and infrastructure . Both wired and wireless technologies employed for grid integration of EVs are presented , discussing safety , standards , magnetics , power levels , efficiency and costs etc. The seminar focuses particularly on the stationary and dynamic wireless EV charging technology and presents its latest advances , highlighting the challenges and future directions .

This webinar will be enlightened by *Prof. Udaya K. Madawala* . He is a *professor* in the *University of Auckland , New Zealand* . Currently , he is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics , and a member of the Sustainable Energy Systems Technical Committee and the Oceania Liaison Chair of Membership Development Committee of the IEEE Power Electronics Society with interests in *power electronics projects related to wireless grid integration of EVs for V2G(Vehicle-to-Grid) applications and renewable energy*. He has *over 250 IEEE journal and international conference publications* , holds a number of patents related to wireless power transfer and power converters . He is a keynote , plenary and tutorial speaker ,and offers his service to industry as a consultant.
