Backend Developer – Symfony (Payment Integrations)
About the Role: We’re looking for a skilled Symfony Backend Developer with deep experience in payment integrations to build the all-in-one billing and payment infrastructure for fast-growing digital businesses.
▪️Role Overview
▫️Analyze, maintain, and improve CheckoutRails’ Symfony-based core product offering, a payment aggregator with multiple third-party integrations for seamless payment processing.
▫️Integrate other internal offerings and products, communicate with cross-functional teams to establish API contracts and achieve business requirements.
▫️Read third-party vendor documentation, identify compatibility with the application, and propose an implementation plan.
▫️Develop and maintain comprehensive test coverage to ensure application stability and reliability.
▫️Plan and execute migration of the system to newer versions of
Symfony while ensuring compatibility with existing features and integrations.
▫️Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical guidance for new integrations.
▫️Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to optimize system performance
▫️Document processes, technical specifications, and best practices.
▫️Mentor junior developers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing.
▫️Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
▪️Requirements
▫️Strong experience with Symfony and PHP 8+
▫️Proven track record working with payment integrations (having standardized multiple integrations is a plus)
▫️Deep understanding of the payment domain, adapter patterns,
integration methodologies, payment methods and transaction types.
▫️Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable payment solutions.
▫️Knowledge of modern workflows, CI/CD, and quality assurance practices.
