According to Bloomberg, the Trump administration is asking countries seeking permanent membership on President Donald Trump’s so-called “Board of Peace” to contribute at least $1 billion, under a draft charter that would place the body firmly under Trump’s personal authority.

The document states that Trump would serve as inaugural chairman, control membership renewals, approve all decisions, set agendas, and oversee funds, with permanent status exempting contributors from term limits.

While US officials told Bloomberg the funds would be used to rebuild Gaza, critics warn the structure is a form of foreign trusteeship, and effectively creates a Trump-led alternative to the UN that centralizes political and financial power in Washington.

The plan has already raised alarm among prospective member states, with several governments reportedly opposing the charter and seeking to collectively push back, citing concerns over governance, transparency, and Trump’s control over funds.

🇬🇧 More than 100 Britons are under investigation amid growing fears they may be spying for hostile foreign states including Russia, Iran and China, a senior counter-terrorism chief has revealed.

Security services are currently handling around 160 investigations linked to state threats, with the vast majority focused on suspected proxies operating inside the #UK. In some cases, individuals are believed to have been recruited without realising they were feeding information to foreign governments.

Commander Dominic Murphy, head of Counter Terrorism Policing London and the national lead for counter-state threats, told the Times that there has been a sharp rise in foreign powers recruiting people from across society including criminals, professionals and even those working in legal and financial sectors.

He said the activity ranged from cyber operations and intelligence gathering to far more serious plots:
