Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza Warns of a Serious Health Deterioration and Spread of Unspecified Diseases.

🍲 The head of the reception and emergency department at Al-Shifa Hospital, Dr. Mutaz Hararah, confirms that the department receives more than 500 patients daily during the past two weeks.
🍲 About 200 cases per day suffer from severe respiratory diseases, the most prominent symptoms of which are high temperature, shortness of breath, severe exhaustion, diarrhea, continuous vomiting, coughing and chest pain.
🍲 The variation in the severity of the symptoms is due to the level of immunity, as some patients recover within two days, while others need anesthesia, especially those with chronic diseases.
🍲 In some cases, patients are admitted to intensive care when treatment fails to raise oxygen saturation in the blood.
🍲 The Ministry of Health is unable to determine the type of some viruses due to the lack of diagnostic capabilities.
🍲 The cases are not "Corona" or seasonal influenza, indicating that the symptoms are more severe, without being able to determine the type of virus.
🍲 A noticeable increase in "Leptospirosis" infections has been recorded, which is a bacterial infection transmitted by rodents, after it was previously recorded once every 3 years, to reach currently two or three cases every two months.
🍲 The alarming appearance of cases of "Acute Flaccid Paralysis", as about 20 cases were recorded during the last month only, after only a few cases were recorded annually.
🍲 Dr. Hararah describes these numbers as a dangerous indicator of health deterioration under an exhausted and incapable health system.
🍲 A sharp shortage of basic tests such as blood tests, and the need to transfer patients to other hospitals to perform CT scans.
🍲 A shortage of basic medications such as antibiotics and painkillers, with the depletion of alternatives allocated for the treatment of other diseases.
