The United Nations said the Houthis detained 20 UN staff members on Sunday, a day after raiding another UN facility in the capital, Sanaa.

Jean Alam, spokesman for the UN resident coordinator in Yemen, told the Associated Press that the UN staff were detained inside the facility in the Al-Hadaa neighborhood southwest of Sanaa.

He said those detained on Sunday included five Yemenis and 15 international staff.

He added that the Houthis released 11 other UN staff after interrogation.

🔴

A second UN official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the raid, said the Houthis confiscated all communications equipment from the facility, including phones, servers and computers.
