MediaWe are currently spending time inside the Range Rover D350 First Edition and there is only word to describe it, Opulunce! Slotting just under the SV model, the D350 First Edition is packed to with niceties that justify the R3.5M price tag. It’s powered by a 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine that’s good for 258kW/700nm of torque. From air suspension to noise cancelling headphones for those sitting in the rear, the Range Rover does not hold back in terms of luxury and making sure that passengers and the driver are in comfort. While the Range Rover is a big vehicle that weighs quite a lot, we were quite impressed with just how the fuel consumption was, average just under 11L/100kms during our week test and I assume that’s because you never want to put your foot down but rather to just sit back and enjoy the drive. The infotainment with wireless smartphone capabilities is simple to use however a micro fibre cloth should always be near as with any of these touchscreen infotainments. The drivers display is clear and crisp while the rear passengers get treated to their own screens as well as a table to control almost anything they want in the car. The ride was extremely plush too despite the 23-inch low profile tyres. The air suspension also aided in making the ride smooth which is definitely expected at this price point.
