В воскресенье я впервые самостоятельно нашла ушастую сову в парке. Обследовала группы ёлок и нашла погадку и следы жизнедеятельности, затем разглядела комок перьев в колючий ветках. Сова спала. К вечеру птица зашевелилась, перья взъерошились, зевнула, почистила клюв когтистой лапой и вдруг скрылась в гуще ветвей, уже в сумерках я увидела как она вылетела на охоту.
А затем услышала писк птенцов. Оказывается, в елках прятались два совенка. Уже довольно большие, один перепархивал с ветки на ветку высоко над землёй. На крыльях уже отросли маховые перья, но сами совята еще покрыты детским пухом. Пока окончательно не стемнело удалось сделать несколько кадров.

Last Sunday, for the first time, I found a long-eared owl in the park without any specilists help. I examined groups of fir trees, discovered an owl pellet and other signs of activity, and then spotted a ball of feathers among the prickly branches. The owl was asleep.

At sunset, the bird began to stir—its feathers fluffed up, it yawned, cleaned its beak with a clawed foot, and suddenly disappeared into the density of branches. At dusk, I saw it take off for a hunt.
Then I heard the voices of chicks. It turned out that two owlets were hiding in the fir trees. They were already quite big—one was fluttering from branch to branch high above the ground. Their flight feathers had already grown in, but they were still covered in soft down. Before nightfall, I managed to take a few photos.
