Some people are asking about the DPRK and Syria and the Syrian situation . Of course Syria and the DPRK were very close allies . However , it is wrong to make any direct comparison between the DPRK and Syria for a number of reasons . The US imperialists want to try and topple the socialist system of People's Korea like they did with the anti-imperialist BAATHist socialist regime regime in Syria. However they are day dreaming because it is not going to happen . People's Korea is different from Syria. -The DPRK does not rely on outside forces for its defence like Syria did
-There are no sectarian,religious or ethnic differences in People’s Korea
People’s Korea blocks the corrosive and toxic infiltration of imperialist culture and ideology but there is little evidence that Syria did
-The DPRK upholds socialism and gives benefits like free housing to its population but it appears Syria introduced ‘market reforms’ undermining socialism .
-The DPRK deals resolutely and decisively with internal traitors whereas it is possible Syria may have been betrayed from within
-People’s Korea has nukes but Syria did not
Ultimately the DPRK is based on strong internal unity and its guided by the Juche idea

Det händer mycket i Korea just nu:
• Betydande ekonomisk utveckling i DFRK, strategiskt samarbete med Ryssland.
Fortsatta krigsprovokationer mot DFRK från USA och dess sydkoreanska marionettregim.
• Rykten (falska sådana) om nordkoreanska trupper i strid mot Ukraina.
Ett misslyckat statskuppsförsök i Seoul. (Parlamentet ogiltigförklarade det av presidenten utlysta undantagstillståndet, ledande polischefer har gripits! Vad låg bakom? Vilken roll spelade USA?).
• Årets nobelpris i litteratur gick till Han Kang, en sydkoreansk författare som bearbetar massakrer och övergrepp i den koreanska historien.
• Vi uppmärksammar också årsdagen av ledaren Kim Jong Ils bortgång 2011 och hans avgörande betydelse under en kritisk epok för försvaret av socialismen och för att bygga upp landets försvar.
Mycket att diskutera alltså. Ta tillfället att komma till Svensk-Koreanska föreningens öppna medlemsmöte.
Vid mötet vankas enkel förtäring. Ta gärna med bekanta!

Chairman Kim Jong Il Remembered in Different Countries
Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Memorial meetings took place in Pakistan, Norway, Denmark, Romania, Sweden, Britain, Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Finland, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and Mexico from December 12 to 17 on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Speeches were made at the meetings attended by political and social figures and masses of those countries.
A senator of Pakistan, a member of the Central Committee of the Pakistan Awami National Party and the chairman of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Committee said that the great Comrade Kim Jong Il devoted his whole life to the country and the revolution with his iron will and superhuman devotion, adding that he was the strength and symbol of socialist Korea.
The chairman of the Ostfold County Committee of the Communist Party of Norway praised Kim Jong Il as a rare thinker-theoretician, defender of socialism, peerless patriot and prominent leader of the global socialist movement.
The chairman of the Socialist Party of Romania, the chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association and the general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico said that the great exploits performed by Kim Jong Il are precious legacy left for the mankind.
The chairman of the Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea noted that Comrade Kim Jong Il is a great revolutionary, outstanding leader and great practitioner.
The first vice-chairperson of the Czech Group for the Study and Materialization of the Juche Idea stressed that the exploits performed by Comrade Kim Jong Il, a peerless statesman, before the country and its people, the times and history will be immortal.
Messages to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un were adopted at the memorial meetings in Denmark, Sweden and Nigeria. -0-

South Korean intelligence reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured a North Korean soldier.
This was reported by the Renhap agency. A source for AFP in South Korean intelligence stated that there is no information yet on where exactly the North Korean soldier was captured.
On December 26, Ukrainian media outlets distributed a photo of what they claimed was the first North Korean soldier captured in the Kursk region.
The Ukrainian authorities and the Ukrainian Armed Forces have not officially confirmed this information.

Ukrainian sources published, and international media happily picked up and widely distributed, a photo of the allegedly recently captured first North Korean soldier.
When the fake was exposed and it turned out that this photo was published more than two years ago on the popular Reddit, international media and leading American Telegram channels reported that the captured North Korean was wounded and had died 15 hours ago.

This picture is making the rounds. Apparently, a North Korean soldier in Ukraine had a note with him, telling him to commit suicide instead of being caught.
A small linguistic analysis thread:
The first thing I noticed is the typography. The text is written in Malgun Gothic, which is the default typeface for South Korean beginning with Windows Vista. Like Gothic typefaces (sans serif) in general, it isn't used in North Korea, especially not in ideological writing.
North Korea predominantly uses serif fonts in official documents or propaganda material that more closely align with traditional calligraphic writing, called 평양체 (literally "Pyongyang Type"). See image 2
The text uses not a single word or particle form which would be recognizably exclusive to North Korean vocabulary, where there should be so many. Especially in military jargon or Juche texts. Not even a single "동무" (comrade)? Really?
The spacing is also distinctly South Korean. In NK orthography dependent nouns do not use spaces.
Example: "될 것" (will become, will be) should be written without a space as "될것" in North Korean. The same goes for "잡히는 것" (being captured), which should be "잡히는것"
There are more, smaller telltale signs like the colon after "전사여, 기억하라:" (Warrior, remember:). It's small but it's there. North Korean texts do not commonly use colons, they are a much more westernized addition to Korean punctuation, used basically only in the South. (Image 3)
Conclusion: Whoever wrote the text is not at all familiar with the North Korean language variety or its writing conventions. Much more likely is an online translation from another language (possibly Russian) and printed on a Windows machine. Or in short: It's fake.

Judging by the published footage, the ship is planned to be equipped with a vertical launch system (VLS) for cruise and/or anti-aircraft missiles (like the domestic UKSK 3S14 or the American Mk 41).
Thus, this ship could become the first frigate with guided missile weapons in the North Korean fleet.

The president's security detail, consisting of servicemen from the 55th Guards Corps, blocked the palace and did not allow the police and the arriving prosecutors to enter.
It is also reported that a fight broke out between a police officer and a corps officer.
The president's office said "the invalid execution of the order is not legal" and that they "will take action."
