❗️Putin's key statements during his visit to Pyongyang:
▪️ A document has been prepared that will become the basis of relations between the two countries for years to come;
▪️ Interaction between the two countries is based on the principles of equality and mutual respect for each other's interests;
▪️ Russia is fighting against decades of imposed "hegemonic policy, imperialist policy of the United States and its satellites".
▪️ Moscow highly appreciates Pyongyang's "consistent and unwavering support" for Russian policy, including on Ukraine;
▪️ The heroic deeds of previous generations are a "good basis" for the development of relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK. In 1945, for example, Soviet soldiers fought alongside Korean patriots to liberate Korea from the Japanese invaders;
▪️ Pyongyang has changed in the last 24 years;
▪️ The new meeting could take place in Moscow.

Putin:
“I am confident that our negotiations today will be productive. In conclusion, I would like to note that what has happened to the capital of the DPRK over 24 years is impressive; the changes in the appearance of Pyongyang, the changes that have occurred since my last visit in 2000, are impressive. It's just noticeable. Thanks to the selfless work of the Korean people under your leadership, the city has, of course, become very beautiful, it’s nice to look at it, I say frankly.”

Following Russian-Korean negotiations, Putin and Kim Jong-un signed the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and the DPRK:
“The new document will replace the Treaty of Friendship and Mutual Assistance of 1961, the Treaty of Friendship and Good Neighborhood in Cooperation of 2000, the Moscow and Pyongyang Declarations 2000 and 2001. The need for a new document is due to the profound evolution of the geopolitical situation in the world and the region, as well as the qualitative changes that have occurred in bilateral relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK recently.”
