📌 The voluntary contribution of the Russian Federation to the International Programme for the Development of Communication in the amount of USD 250,000 is earmarked for the development of media in Africa.
📌 Over the next eighteen months, projects will be implemented in Malawi, Mali, Ghana, Kenya, and Senegal to improve journalists’ professional competencies, counter online violence, and develop media and information literacy.
📌 Using Russian funding, a programme on journalistic ethics will also be implemented in response to a request from Nepal.
💬 Permanent Representative 🇷🇺 Rinat Alyautdinov stated:

As the world remembers the liberation of Auschwitz 80 years ago, a reminder of a classic case of historical fact vs the rewriting of history.
In US and European media, the US is presented as the liberator of Europe that ended the Holocaust and Nazi Germany’s crimes. In reality it was the Soviet Red Army that liberated the concentration camps, giving 27 million lives to defeat German fascism, with 3 in every 4 German soldiers that died in WW2 being killed on the Eastern Front.
