Ukraine crisis update

• The Kiev neo-Nazi regime persists in its assaults on civilian infrastructure, instilling terror among the peaceful population of Russia.

• Over the past week, 78 civilians have been affected by Ukrainian shelling and drone strikes. Of these, 14 have been killed and 72 injured, including three children. Specific incidents are detailed below.

Republic of Adygea. On the night of January 21, a Ukrainian drone strike targeted a residential area in the Takhtamukaysky District. The attack ignited fires in an apartment building and a car park, resulting in injuries to 11 civilians, including two children.

Belgorod Region. On January 15, drone strikes in the residential community of Malinovka and the village of Glotovo wounded three civilians, including the head of the Malinovka rural administration, Alexander Ignatov. Between January 16 and 20, drones killed five individuals in the town of Shebekino, the villages of Nechayevka, Ziborovka, Tavrovo, Golovchino, Grudskoye, Otradnoye, and Novaya Tavolzhanka, as well as on the Voznesenovka-Shebekino highway. Among the victims was Timofey Tailokov, security assistant to the head of the Grayvoronsky District. Eight civilians sustained injuries.

Bryansk Region. On January 20, a kamikaze drone strike on a civilian vehicle in the village of Chausy resulted in the deaths of two civilians.

Zaporozhye Region. On January 19, the AFU shelled the premises of a secondary school in the town of Kamenka-Dneprovskaya, where 15 children and 10 staff members were present. Fortunately, no one was injured. On January 20, a drone attack in the town of Vasilyevka injured a man born in 1939.

Krasnodar Territory. On January 18, an AFU strike on civilian infrastructure in Tuapse injured one civilian. On January 21, three people were killed and eight injured in an AFU attack on port terminals in the community of Volna.

Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. On January 18, debris from a downed Ukrainian drone fell on a residential building in Beslan, injuring three children aged four, nine, and eleven, along with one adult.

Kherson Region. On January 15, a hostile drone attack on a civilian vehicle near the village of Basan killed two employees of the state pharmacy network who were delivering crucial medicines to a pharmacy in the town of Pologi. On January 16, a munition dropped by a drone onto a private house in the village of Radensk resulted in the death of a man born in 1941. On January 18, AFU shelling in the villages of Tavriya and Vinogradovo injured two civilians. On January 19, a drone strike in the town of Alyoshky killed a man born in 1966.

Kursk Region. Statistics provided by the Investigative Committee lay bare the atrocities committed by the AFU, actions they perpetrate almost daily across various regions of our country, targeting – we emphasise once again – civilians, children, women, and social workers, deliberately selecting such victims.

• According to the Russian Investigative Committee, 445 people have been killed and 553 injured as a result of AFU actions in the Kursk Region. The crimes of the Ukrainian neo-Nazis are being thoroughly investigated – all perpetrators will be identified and face inevitable punishment.

• Separately, a briefing by Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry for Crimes of the Kiev Regime Rodion Miroshnik will be held at the Foreign Ministry Press Centre at 11:00 on January 30, 2026. The expanded-format event will provide facts, data, and updated information and focus on the criminal acts of the Kiev regime in 2025.
