📹The Siberian tiger is known as the 'spirit of the forest' in China, and they're the largest of the wildcats. They are also solitary creatures, which means that each animal needs its own territory spanning hundreds to thousands of kilometres to hunt.

Also of interest is that the tiger is the only species able to live in the harsh conditions of the far north.

By the middle of the twentieth century there were only about 30 of these animals left in the world. The main reasons for the sharp decline in their number are poaching and the deforestation of their natural habitats. The predator was listed in the Red Book of animals on the verge of extinction. But now its population is recovering.

For the first time in 7️⃣0️⃣ years, an Amur tiger has been released into the wild in Kazakhstan. The largest cat in the world disappeared from the republic’s territory back in 1948.

Russia is helping restore the population of these animals. In May 2026, Russia transferred four Amur tigers to Kazakhstan. 

China is also working to revive the Amur tiger population. You can see how they are being returned to the wild in China in the film 'Return of the Siberian Tiger: A Cross-Border Conservation Success'.

‘I thought it was a nuclear blast. Limbs and blood were everywhere,’

Fouad El Herzek remembers the horrific explosion that rocked Beirut 6 years ago. Fouad, together with some 300,000 other people, became homeless after his house was completely destroyed. A massive explosion destroyed the port, killing hundreds and injuring thousands.

Tonnes of ammonium nitrate had been stored in the port for years with no safety measures in place. Many who lost loved ones are still waiting for the government to name the culprits. The tragedy has prompted fury among residents, who call for immediate action. They want to know who was aware of the danger but did nothing to prevent the explosion.

Spain's migration crisis is over, at least according to the officials.

Residents of Ceuta are still afraid to leave their homes. Crowds of undocumented migrants are imposing their own rules on the streets, staging protests and riots, and demanding refugee status. Most migrants have left voluntarily, but authorities still record up to 2,000 attempts to cross the border every single day.

Spain has found itself at the center of an international crisis: European partners are criticizing Madrid over its immigration policies. Local authorities are trying to calm the situation, but thousands of undocumented migrants remain in Ceuta.

📹This is the world's first circumnavigation on an inflatable trimaran. Siberians Evgeny Kovalevsky and Stanislav Beryozkin set out on a dangerous voyage.

They struggled with strong winds and storms. The ship often broke down. There were no showers or toilets, and they cooked on a gas cooker. The only food was pasta, rice, tinned food and bread. They had to also endure night watches, during which one could not sleep a wink—even for a second.
