Some thoughts about living.

I am by far not an eloquent writer and have struggled with dyslexia for many years and have had great troubles expressing myself with words.
Since we all learn from each other and mentor each-other in different forms, today is a day to face one of my fears, and to step under a spotlight with jewel for this time in life.
As a full human being, and one that has traveled extensively, and seen so very many faces and people, and heard so so many words and teachings and have listened more than I have spoken, as someone that has had to endure much harshness, criticism and has been the subject of very hurtful, hateful words and judgment...
The tender word that I would like to offer today is a beautiful soft, gentle word called empathy.
Empathy for me is the ability to put yourself in another persons shoes and look through their eyes and heart. Its the ability to hear the unspoken words. To see the tears that are being held back, and being able to feel very deeply, then asking the right questions and humbly seeing what you can do to help the other person, saying kind words that clothe them with grace and strength to face another day, another moment, and to show that you truly care about them.
Everyone battles two opposing forces. Everyone has the ability for extreme good or bad. We are made in the image of God and that is the good side that is pure and has this ability for extraordinary acts of kindness and generosity. The other side is the flesh, and that can lead to hurtful actions, and cruel manipulative behaviors.
When we feel we are judged we automatically feel naked and exposed, we feel the need to protect our virtue, to highlight the truth about ourselves, our character and our life. We might freeze, or fight back, or run away, we might find a corner to cry in and try to find the purpose for living another day. Or fight back with more cruel and hurtful words and try to comfort ourselves in some way. We all have our methods for survival.
Life is difficult, very difficult for a lot of us. We find ourselves in situations that we have never been in before and we have to figure out how to navigate through them.
Or if you find yourself as a person that try's to brush everything off as irrelevant, or with the mentality of "forgive and forget" because you prefer to focus only on your immediate happiness and self. You will miss a deeper meaning to life, and that is empathy and compassion.
Empathy is not synonymous sympathy or feeling sorry for another person, although it can start there, but it is the ability to relate, and trying with everything you are to reach out and do something about the need to extend compassion, kindness and generosity.
When we feel we are surrounded by humans that only care about themselves and self image, and money, getting richer, or self preservation, or being heard, we tend to feel isolated and lonely.
Any human has the potential to become Narcissistic. For me this is when a person only cares about themselves and what they can get from other people. They use others for gain. Compassion is absent and if there is nothing in it for them they move on.
We all have needs, maybe desperate needs. We need money to pay for a roof over our heads. Money for healthy food to sustain our health. We need to care for our children and make sure they have everything they need for a healthy strong upbringing. Maybe we have extreme emotional needs and depend on others to care for our existence and we need to know that we matter.
Whatever the need, when we take the time to look beyond ourselves and take a moment to think through the eyes and soul of empathy perhaps in helping others life, we will find our own. This then adds more of the God nature to this earth, the virtues that embody the character of the divine.
Let us add empathy to our character, along with kindness and deep compassion.
As Jesus Christ, Lord and King will one day stand before us and say...
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40
Have a beautiful blessed day.
You are unique and dearly loved by God Himself.
