So all things seemed full of danger, and there appeared no path of deliverance.

But I glorified the God of Israel; and gave thanks to Him whose mercy endureth for ever.

All these were moved by jealousy, and spake out of the malignity of their hearts.

“Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the leaven of the Sadducees.”

Howbeit, added I, before Jesus, no prophet spake thus of himself as the Son of man.

“O woman, great is thy faith; be it unto thee even as thou wilt.”

Only it is needful that we serve not unwillingly, but willingly. But whoso serveth the Lord in all things willingly, he is no slave, but a son.

“Whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

“Bring thy son hither to me.”

“The nearer to me the nearer to the fire; but the further from me, the further from the Kingdom.”

“There wanteth now one day less to the day of the Passover: and on that day, if not before, Jesus must of a surety redeem Israel with the strong hand.”

“the salt hath lost its savour, wherewith shall the salting be performed?”

“I have given you an example that ye should do as I have done to you.”

“If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.”

For the thing was hidden from us of the Lord, that we should neither believe it nor conceive it.

And the touch thereof remaineth with me unto this day; for his hand was not again to touch my hand upon earth.

So I returned and told them all; and the memory of their lamenting remaineth with me unto this day.

“The like also we ourselves have heard.”

“Sit we down here, and let us pray that the Lord may reveal his will unto us.”

Therefore when I sleep in the grave, I am in thy cradle; and when I shall arise up and awake, behold around me are thy everlasting arms.
