Job description
We are looking for a full-time lead developer to take our platform to the next level, by leading our small development team. It is important that you know and love both your front-end as well as your back-end development and are able to give direction to a young but eager team.
Although we dislike official hierarchy by job titles (the one with the best ideas or most relevant experience is the one that calls the shots), we’re looking for someone who will naturally assume that leading role by their knowledge and fascination for creating software technologies and ability to see how a team can work in ever improved manners.
About us
We are a young company, changing the print industry by connecting print to digital platforms. We’re a small and autonomous team (16 and counting), based in the heart of Amsterdam. We are known for ‘the Print Button of the internet’ and our Cloudprint platform has won us awards at Wired, The Next Web and an Accenture Innovation award.
Using a global cloud print network, we operates as the intermediary between many platforms and only the best print facilities in the world (about 30 active ones at the moment), taking care of checkout, payment, production, delivery worldwide and customer service.
Our 'cloud print button' is being used by over 15,000 customers across the globe.
Skills
• Bachelor degree or Academic background
• Ability to rapidly iterate and meet deadlines
• No excuses attitude to getting things done
• Experience working at high-pace in a startup environment
• A minimum of 7 years of experience with Java - You know how to write clear and maintainable Java code
• You have unlimited fascination for cutting edge software technologies and love sharing knowledge with the rest of your team
• You care about quality and getting user stories really done
• You have proven leadership skills and can elevate the level of those around you
• Working knowledge Spring, Hibernate, MySQL and JUnit
• Knowledge of Javascript, HTML5, CSS, jQuery (experience with PHP is a plus)
• Knowledge of Agile / Scrum
• Knowledge of and experience with Linux and AWS
• Excellent communicative skills in English
