I. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Java Developer responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
• Participate project chartering sessions that includes business process analysis, requirements analysis,
architectural, high level and detailed design.
• Follow standardization and development practices to mitigate technology risks in projects.
• Test driven development in Java in a multi-threaded environment.
• Write Junit test cases.
• End-to-End Unit testing of implementation of functionalities.
• Learn the system and help business analyst in documenting existing and new functionalities and
enhancements.
• Closely working with tech leads, learn the system and deliver the assignments with quality.
• Remain informed of current trends, technology developments and recommend software solutions to
emerging needs in media domain.
III. Education and/or Experience:
• Minimum 7 years of software development experience with 5+ years Java/J2EE experience.
• Minimum 2 years of software developer maintaining, supporting, bug fixing, and refactoring a large
scale multi-server backend daemon processes written in Java communicating via RMI.
• Must be able to translate business needs into effective technical solutions using core JAVA and common
opensource libraries and frameworks.
• Must have practical implementation experience with Web Service RESTful API.
• Highly preferred with performance in encoding audio video in cloud platform.
• Experience with Java/J2EE technologies: Java, EJB3.0, JMS, JDBC, XML.
• Experience with application servers is a plus: Spring Boot, Jetty, Apache Tomcat, Wildfly.
• Experience with frameworks: Spring, Hibernate.
• Strong understanding of Java Multithreading and Daemons.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda/Batch.
• Experience deploying restful based micro-services in docker containers.
• Experience with CI/CD build pipelines building docker images, Jenkins, Maven.
• Experience with the development tools a plus: Intellij, Git, JIRA
• Proven experience with interfacing to relational databases (particularly PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve difficult problems quickly
• Proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow
through on projects
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with cloud neutral technologies such as Kubernetes and Openshift a plus.
• Familiarity with common branching strategies like Gitflow a plus.
