#Cotton and #textile sector to meet Ministry on May 17, due to record high cotton prices

After a meeting with the representatives of Textile industry & other stake holders, Piyush Goyal assured the industry that domestic demand of #cotton will be met on priority. If needed Govt may take strict measures like banning cotton exports.

High #cotton prices in intl market have forced mills to halt production for 2-3 days a week impacting the overall production by 20-25%. Some mills now have inventory left for only 15-30 days
